Hi all
Ttc for a few months now. Tried using OPK for first time this month. Got a positive (both lines the same) on Monday evening so SWI that night. Yesterday evening I did another test and more strongly positive i.e. test line stronger than control line. Managed to persuade DH that he could SWI again last night Wink

So what I'm asking is, since it's unlikely my DH will have the energy for much more SWI do we go for it again tonight or day after tomorrow to maximise our chances?

or have we done enough already and can go back to listening to radio 4 and reading our books?! Grin

As far as I recall, you get the positive OPK when the hormone which triggers ovulation rises. Once you have had the positive, ovulation can occur anything from a few hours to a couple of days later (or indeed not at all, it is quite possible for women to have more than one LH surge in a month as the body is very good at 'delaying' ovulation if you are unwell, stressed, etc!).

How are the other OV signs looking? EWCA, cervical position, any ovulation pain?

I would probably aim for today and tomorrow to cover yourselves, although sperm is known to survive for many days, just waiting on the egg Grin

Keep testing as well, to make sure that you don't have another surge and maybe miss a late ovulation.

Good luck!

Thanks for that. Didn't know you could have more than one surge a month. Unfortunately it is a little meaningless now DH is unwell so I may have to wait a bit before I jump on him again!
