Hi everyone,
Am on CD24 of 34, TTC #1 and think I ovulated on the 16th. I thought I'd read somewhere that you can test 12 days after ovulating, but 1 reply I've had to this on another thread said test when your periods late. I don't really want to have to wait another 11 days until my periods due to test Confused. Realy trying to hold off testing early as well, but impatient and just want to know.
Any good advice?

i tested on cycle day 24 of a 28 cycle so 4 days early and got a posative, but it is risky doing it early as if your not 100% when you ovulated, its not always in the middle, quite alot do ovulate late and if thats the case dont get a posative till after missed period, a lady on here was getting negatives untill 12 days after missed period, i would see what happens with your period 1st, 11 days will fly by.
good luck :)

Hi MadKatz,

I cant stand the waiting either, but I try and remind myself that whenever I have tested early and got a negative I dont believe the result anyway! (because its too early and the HCG hormone might not be showing up yet) so whats the point?

It also gets quite addictive, if you get a negative today, you will convince yourself its worth testing again tomorrow, and then the next day and so on until your period. I bought a large packet of cheap tests from Amazon, and this makes it even WORSE because the expense doesnt hold you back. (plus because they are cheap you start doubting their accuracy and think its worth testing AGAIN!)

Well this thread is turning a bit "Repeat Testers Anonymous" so I will stop here, but my advice is, go out and do something else to take your mind off it!

best wishes xxx

I nicked these stats off another thread:

The percentages of those who get their BFPs on set dpo are as follows:
10dpo=35%
11dpo=51%
12dpo=62%
13dpo=68%
14dpo=74%
15dpo=80%
16dpo=88%
17dpo=92%
and there are some who have not got their BFP until 21dpo

Hang on in there another week if you can, there is no point in wasting money on tests that wont be reliable enough at this early stage.
