Dress in the bin!

My lovely husband has just reminded me about an embarrassing situation I had before I even started TTC in an effort to make me smile. I was at work and in a meeting with some suppliers and one of the ladies said ?ooh are you expecting?!? I had to reply with ?err no, I?ve just come back from a holiday?. I have now put the dress in the bin!

A (pregnant) friend who consoled me after the event said her motto is ?I would rather see a pregnant lady stand than a fat lady cry?.

I would now like to add that I am a size 12!

Awww, funny. I put on a bit of weight when we were on hols, got a bit of a belly just because that's where I carry my weight and I usually am size 10 with a flat tummy. When I got back there were rumours one of the girls were pregnant an I kept getting people checking out my beer belly but not saying anything!! Someone was pregnant but it wasn't me so I've started Trying to shift my 'beer' weight now!!!

Same thing happened to me. I wore a dress to work, which I hardly ever do as I'm not a dress person, and a female colleague happened to look at my stomach, said 'are you...?' and then made a sort of pregnant-belly-gesture. I said 'no, I've just had my lunch' and she said, get this:

'It must have been a good lunch then' Shock

I was so shocked I didn't know what to say.

The dress is now hanging at the back of my wardrobe, awaiting the next charity collection bag...

Cringe!!

About 18 months ago I was at a family gathering and my grandma looked pointedly at my belly and then asked my mum, who was sat right next to me, "Is that just fat?". I had been married about 2 years at the time, so everyone was expecting us to be expecting, as it were. As we were - and still are - ttc with no success, it was pretty upsetting, especially coming from family.

On the positive side, it inspired me to take up a new fitness regime, lose over a stone and get the flattest tummy I have ever had. Oh, and put a LOT of dresses in the charity bin!
