I am considerably late for my period anyways but I am putting this down to un even cycles as this is only my 2nd cycle since coming off the pill!

I bought a £1 pound land test (i usually get the cheapie ones from ebay) and did the test this morning.

The faintest, faintest line came up, it was so very faint.

I took it down stairs straight away and laid it on white paper, I called to DH who said he could see the line (usually I can see a line anyways - but DH never can so I guess HIM seeing it is the big event here!! Grin )

Anyways, its was unbelievably faint, I couldn't get a photo of it (not that I tried)

Over the day it has faded and now looks like an evap line, but I can't believe it to be true as I have seen 'lines' so many time on those cheap tests!

Hi MoonGlorious

I was always under the impression that all HPTs were created equal, and you just paid for a brand name and a more elaborate casing, but having read a few posts on this site, I think that the opposite's true.

Lots of people have reported getting BFNs or v faint BFPs on cheaper tests then going on to get a full-on BFP on a brand name test. I reckon that, if you've got a really faint line, you should upgrade to a better test and try it with that. Good luck!

Well, they say that lines get darker as the levels of HCG increase, so maybe POAS again in a few days? Or try a better test if you reslly can't wait (and are made of money Wink)

Fingers crossed for you!

I got hideously squinters could almost be evap lines on the internet cheapies - even now with like week 7 pee the lines still aren't awesome on them - I just htink they're faint as part of their characteristics.

For comparison purposes - fertility friend has a gallery of positive test sticks and there are some right royal squinters on there!

I'd go buy something decent like a First Response (try to avoid the blue dye ones and go pink if at all possible) - I got a much more definite line with one of those... even though the internet cheapies were meant to be uber uber sensitive.

Hi, I agree with empty I POAS on Wed and got an almost invisible line but that night (11pm) it was darker - these were internet cheapies then the next morning I got a really clear BFP on a FR.

Hope you get the result you want Smile

I had a very faint line on one of those poundland tests, DH didn't believe me, it was almost not there - waited till first pee of the day the next day, used another of the same tests, and it was a definite positive. Also had the spotting, was implantation. 4month old DD gurgling here next to me! Good luck!

Get one of those ClearBlue digital tests - there's no messing about trying to interpret lines, it just says 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant'

sweetnitanitro · 23/08/2010 10:30

Yes, I agree about the digital test. I tried 2 cheapo test and got one too faint to tell if it was there and the other negative- but the digital one came up positive (it was right!). Boots do their own digital one, I think it's a bit cheaper than the clearblue one.

MoonGlorious · 23/08/2010 10:52

Hmmm, i might get a digital one.

Am feeling quite sick now, lol. it will be my mind playing tricks though!
