accupuncture has a well established success rate in helping with conception, and a good idea I think, but its worth going to your GP too and getting the standard checks done,(your partner's sperm as a first call.)You are young and have time still so try not to panic and stress about it.8m is not very long.

Thanks hellymelly - I've been to my GP & she said she wouldn't do any tests until we'd been trying for a year. I'm not stressed about the amount of time, more a stress head in general which I don't think is helping!!

Well,I would have lied, but then I started trying at a lot older.I got my DH to go and have his sperm tested when we'd only just started trying !(poor man).He was told to stop cycling, its very bad for sperm and he cycled everywhere.I had some accupuncture, which I was having anyway for my back, but I told the practitioner I wanted to get pregnant and Bam,I was.(at 40)
Maybe go back to your GP,either say you got your months wrong and looking back it must be nearly 12m now,or plead some family history of infertility, early menopause, whatever.you are young,as I said, and most women your age will be pregnant within a year, but I think its good to get the basics checked out as if there is any hitch the sooner you know the better.Friends of ours started trying at 32 and it took five years of various treatments and one cyvle of IVF to get their baby six months ago,so you are just better off addressing things asap as it gives you all the options.the chances are there is nothing at all wrong,8m is not at all unusual, and you will probably be pregnant very shortly!Good luck.

I am a massive advocate of acupunture for ttc, I had it to help me with PCOS and through IVF and then to support my pregnancy.

If you decide to give it a go please, please make sure you see someone who specialises in gyne and ttc - I wasted money before I found someone who could do the job!

Best of luck x

should have added my cycles were shortish, like yours, and I've had two babies very easily in my 40s,so don't worry about that.

thanks ladies - it's tomorrow so fingers crossed. She's been recommended to me by someone who was in a similar situation and she got pregnant after seeing her.....:)

Oooh yes - definitely try it. I was going to see someone but got pregnant anyway so no need. But I had contacted two clinics who both specialise in conception.

My friend had acupuncture and swore by it. She got pregnant a couple of months after beginning it.

It always makes me think of Sex and the City when Charlotte is trying to conceive and hears about a doctor who does acupuncture and can make ANY woman conceive.

I think it really can help - and it certainly doesn't hurt to try these things.

I went to see her today - it was very interesting. I've not been charting properly apparently so need to do that so I can tell when I ovulate. She doesn't think that I do at the moment..... but she stuck some pins in me so lets see what happens!
