Took clomid whilst pregnant - advice needed

Hi,

I was wondering / hoping there is someone out there who can help with me some info.

I have been TTC for a while and have just finished my second cycle of clomid.
Before I started the clomid (day 1) I took a pregnancy test and it was negative.
Then I started clomid on day 2.

By day 3 my period (which was quite light to start with) had stopped and didn't start again.

Took another pregnancy test, just in case, but it was negative so I carried on with the clomid.

Yesterday (day 6 - last day of clomid) I got itchy palms which was one of the many pregnancy symptoms I had last time so I tested again and got a BFP (approx 4 - 5 weeks).

I am obviously very happy :) but am now also quite worried about the effects of clomid on an early pregnancy Confused

Spoke with the fetility clinic and they said there's nothing I can do to counter effects of clomid, I'll just have 'wait and see'.

I'm sure there are people out there who have been in the same position as me... would be grateful for as much info as possible.

Thanks in advance

Don't worry! I did this too - he was fine, ten fingers and ten toes.

I phoned the fertility expert in a panic when I realised what I had done (I also had a 'period' and BFN before I started taking it) and she told me there was nothing to worry about.

Congratulations!

Hi sweetsherry, that makes me feel a lot better, thanks!!

I have a clomid-folicle scan scheduled for tomorrow - I haven't cancelled yet, going to ask them to do scan to see what's going on in there... Am having some bad cramps and light spotting. Hopefully, it's nothing to worry about.

Just to let you know, I am now in process of miscarrying but Doctors can't (won't?) say whether clomid had causal effect.

Really sorry - I had a lot of spotting right up until 9th week, but luckily no m/c - can't imagine how you're feeling.

Nothing I can say except look after yourself, and take some time off work if you can.

Hi there - I am just going through the same situation...found out 3 days after finishing first course of Clomid that I'm PG.
I'm so sorry that your story did not end happily, worriedbfp. Has anything happened since? Are you back on clomid?
sweetsherry your response has given me some hope! Did the drs tell you to do anything specific/did you have to have any additional tests? So much to worry about :(

@TTC2years I know this is a long shot since it has been so long, but how did everything turn out for you?
