Implantation bleed, or something more worrying....?

According to FF I am 7DPO today. I usually check my cervix (charting) and noticed yesterday that my CM was a faint pink colour. This morning there was bright red blood on my finger - very obvious but not so much its even reaching my knickers. Just checked again now, and its now a reddish-pink colour, but a bit less.

Everything I've googled says an implnatation bleed is NOT bright red blood, but brown or faint pink. So could this be something else? Also, CD6 seems a bit early to me for implantation bleeding.

I have zero cramps to go with it.

I am usually very regular and never spot mid-cycle. I do spot for a couple of days before AF flows arrives, but that's usually brownish, never red.

A few days ago I thought I had thrush symptoms and used a canesten pessary, which cleared up the symptoms so quickly I didn't bother with the accompanying creams.

Can the pessary cause bleeding some days later?

mmm im not too sure, but i can remember when i was pregnant last time and very early, i got some bright red bits of blood like the reddist it can go really and the hospital said it was implantation bleeding.
but it does sound abit early to get it, but anything is possible i suppose. just keep a check on it, if you notice it again go see your gp. i can remember other month i had some blood about a week before period was due, only a little amount and never happend again didnt even find out what it was

Hi there, keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or if you get cramps as well call your EPAU (Early pregnancy assessment unit) Nurse, not all hospitals have them but usually located within the ob's and Gynae ward or GP. Hopefully it will turn out to be one of those unexplained 'things'!
Hope all will be well for you.

Thanks for the thoughts. I've just been squizzing at my chart again and wondering if there was any chance I ov'd earlier and FF has things wrong ... I have a dip which says maybe (CD12), but my CBFM peaks seem to say 'no'. Oy ... the last thing I need is another dimension to my medical problems ... Really tired of this TTC stress.

ah, bless you, just keep an eye on things and as I say, heavier bleedd and or cramps and off to the EPAU or GP with you. Big hug! PS On another note stress is not good TTC or during pregnancy, perhaps look into accupuncture...lots of people swear by it, worth a thought!

Hi Choccie Smile Was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you were...

I have everything crossed for you that this is indeed the beginning of a pregnancy, and yes, implantation bleeding can be red! I've had IB four times now, and two of them were red, including the one I had with ds.
How is it this morning? Has it stopped or is it still going?

Fwiw, I've also had bleeding after using Canesten, but it was immediately after, so I wouldn't have thought it was that in your case.

Good luck, and let us know what happens!

chocciechip · 13/08/2010 13:26

Hi monkey

Obviously, I will be hoping its an IB no matter what logic tells me... but... I found another site today that had a post where lots and lots of women talked about how they started bleeding after using a canesten pessary. I expect that's what it is, because 7DPO is very early for implantation.

I don't feel PG at all.

Hope you're well!

Oh - and the bleeding has turned to pink CM today, so yesterday was really the only day there was bright blood.

I shall be hoping its an IB too Grin Fingers are tightly crossed for you... Boo to all those ladies who had bleeding, may it not be that!
Am doing okay thanks Smile

MamaPower · 13/08/2010 18:09

Choccie glad to hear it seems to be an unexplained blip or IB, either way, very happy for you.
Monkey ''Boo to all those ladies who had bleeding'' WTF? sorry that us ladies who bleed offend you! I hope you never have the misfortune to mc! What a dreadful thing to say!

monkeybumsmum · 13/08/2010 22:15

MamaPower you have completely misunderstood what I meant. I was talking about the ladies who had bled after using the canesten pessary (as I have also done).
Having lost four babies myself I would never, ever say anything like that about miscarriage. Gosh, I feel quite cross that you read it like that.

Choccie, let me know how you go lovely x

chocciechip · 15/08/2010 11:15

I felt utterly gutted when I found that canestan bleeding thread, so knew what you meant.

Monkeys, about your canestan bleeding experience... can you tell me more...

I used the pessary on Sunday last week but only noticed pink CM on Wednesday (6DPO) then red blood spotting on Thurs, pink CM on Fri and Sat... and today I have red blood spotting again.

I do usually spot before AF arrives, but looking at my charts of the last five months, it usually only starts on 12DPO and today is 10DPO - so all of the above is really early.

Is this what it was like for you?

Have to be quick choccie as got people coming round and am just blitzing house, but will be back again later - my bleeding from the pessary was probably a day after using it, and was only a tiny bit, and just during the afternoon. Your bleeding doesn't sound like that to me.

Am so glad you knew what I meant, but then you 'know' me, so am glad you realised what I was on about! Have been worried I'd inadvertently offended you too Blush

Back later x
