Giving blood

I know you aren't meant to give blood when you are pregnant, we've been ttc for 6months and I know I am definitely not pg this month. Do you think it would affect my chances if I gave blood?

Giving blood is a fantastic gift and its great that you are so keen to donate. Blood stocks are low, and every donation counts.

The advice when pregnant is:

"You should not give blood if you are pregnant or you are a woman who has had a baby in the last 9 months."

For advice on what to do when TTC, I would point you towards the 24 hour donor helpline (0300 123 23 23) where you can speak to the experts.

Also, the NHSBT donation website is here , it is very good.

All the best TTC, as well!
