Apt for smear due when we should be SWI

I don't know what I was thinking when I booked it, but I've just realised that my smear test is due on CD13 (I normally OV on CD14). This means there will (hopefully) be lots of SWI before and on the test day.

Will this cause a problem? Should I re-arrange the appointment?

Go for the test. If you have cancerous cells and don't go, any child you may conceive may end up motherless. Harsh, but true. Please do not put it off.

Hi LilRedWG - I will definatley be going for the test as I did have get an abnormal result in January and had to have treatment to have pre-cancerous cells removed and now have to have the tests more frequently.
I'm only talking about putting it off to the following week or so.

Just needing to know whether all the potential SWI would affect the result! :)

They do say not to have any sex the day before, even with a condom from what I recall. Can you try and bring the appointment forward by a few days? It definitely can affect the results. Not sure what SWI means though? I think I can guess, but wasn't sure what it stood for! Grin

Hmmm - I've never been told to avoid sex at all, so maybe it'd be okay.

I got pg the month we missed a day when I was due to OV. Why don't you just give TTC a rest for a day before ?

I wasn't told to avoid sex and the nurse didn't ask me if I 'd had sex either, I don't think it makes a difference. I seem to remember researching it a bit before my last smear test back in May and although there is a lot of conflicting opinion on the internet in the end I decided if it was important then it would have been mentioned in the smear test literature I was sent with my reminder.
I was also in the middle of SWI and worried about having a smear test but had it anyway, as it is obviously very important. Results were fine and I also got pregnant that cycle too, so I would say go ahead.
