Hi all - need a bit of advice

I've been feeling a bit rotten the last couple of days, sicky and v tired and spotty which is very unlike me.

DS is 11mo and I've been bf so haven't had a period since 2008.

Tonight I bought a clearblue test - after about 2 mins there was a very very faint + line in the box - I mean you really had to look closely, but it was enough to make me go . And then it all but disappeared and looks like a shadow of a line which was once there then rubbed out. (sorry babbling now)
DH cannot see it, he says there would be a strip there in the background anyway so it would turn blue if you were pg.

This would be incredibly bad timing for us and so i dont think i was imagining the line - but I can't help wondering and having a wee smile to myself! DS was a very faint line too bless him.

Help - what do you think?

Do it again tomorrow? Good luck!

purplehonesty · 29/07/2010 19:50

Yeah you're right. Just checked it again and the line has gone completely. Hmm

a line is a line is a line... unless you imagined it.

Do it again tomo.

And report back (nosey)

OnEdge · 29/07/2010 19:52

What make was it? Morrison's oones give false positives. Sounds pos to me though, a line is a line and if you went there was a line

BarbieLovesKen · 29/07/2010 19:53

It really does sound positive to me, and remember that if you've left it for a while its not accurate i.e. if the line is completely gone now it makes no difference... its what it reads after the 2 mins (or whatever the development time is)

purplehonesty · 29/07/2010 19:58

Yeah onedge, it made me cry...we are at the start of a house build and living with my folks.

I'm also due to go back to work in 5 weeks and did a lot of foot stamping about getting my job back!!

It was a clearblue- should have got a digital. I would go and get one now but we live in the middle of nowhere.

nagoo I will update you tomw - maybe I should leave it a bit longer before I test again tho?

sounds like an evap line to me to be honest. A pos will stay for at least 24 hours. Clearblue cross tests are notoriously unreliable, ie give difficult to read results.

When the urine is moving across the strip, you may see what you think is a pos result appearing, if it's evap, it becomes a shadow/grey. If pos, it'll stay at that point.

There's a website that tested them all and it continuously got poor reviews.

good luck. hope you get the result you would like.

Hi guys, did a clearblue digital test this morning and NOT pregnant.

Damn test last nght had my head spinning - shan't buy one of those again. Oh and shall be more careful too!!

Good result timing wise, still feel a bit disappointed tho - silly moo.

The CB +/- tests are pretty notorious for rogue vertical lines. I had a few in a row get a line, very thin, just to the left of where the positive line should be. Very confusing and shit.

purplehonesty · 30/07/2010 09:40

indeed, will never use them again...digital so much better and on offer, 2 for a tenner in tesco ladies!

Jumping on board here - purplehonesty - are you still not pregnant? if you see what i mean?

Only asking, as i had similar story as you this week - feeling really tired and we're actively ttc. Did an early response test and i swear there was a faint line, but it disappeared after 10 mins. got all over excited and didn't sleep, but kind of didn't trust it either. so bought a clearblue digital and the next morning it was negative.

I wondered if the early response could be right and the digital isn't picking it up as early. Have no regular cycle due to pcos, so no idea when ovulation was!!

thanks peeps x

I wouldn't trust clearblue +/- tess, I've had to call them in the pas as there tests are so shite, weird lines/dots/evap lines all over the place!

First response is the best test IMO.
