oh booooooooo to periods, so sorry to hear that - been TTC for a while myself, know it's just pants.

can I fix you a virual G&T?

Alibobster · 28/07/2010 20:39

Sorry for my languauge gardenpixie - been trying ttc for 2 years with three mc in that time. Just celebrated another birthday and beginning to feel that time is running out and I'll never have another baby ( I am very, very lucky that I have a 4 year old ds). How long have you been ttc?

don't apologise for your language - it;s totally understandable!

been ttc for just over two years but only 8 months of being on the ball in terms of doing it at the right time etc.

just rubbish - and each month I keep expecting it to be different, ergh!

grrrrr

sorry to hear about mc though, very hard ... and the birthdays DO tend to rack up don't they?

so I think a few well placed expletives are totally in order!

gardenpixie · 28/07/2010 20:46

has your Dr been able to help at all?

i've just been given clomid and progesterone to try next cycle ...

Alibobster · 28/07/2010 20:58

I'm seeing consultant at local hospital and because I can get pg, even if it is taking a long time, he is more concerned with finding out the reason for the mc's. I did have a procedure to have dye inserted into my tubes, which actually showed that one was blocked. It was supposed to have op to get it cleared but because I did get pg recently (2 months ago), even though I mc, Dr has decided that he's not going to do anything about it and has told me to keep trying and if nothing happens go back in 6 months! Aaaagh! I'm 36 now and just feel like I don't have time to waste!

Oh lord that's frustrating! Another SIX MONTHS?

Have you had progesterone levels etc checked?

One of my friends kept having early miscarriages and she used a progesterone cream in the first trimester which seemed to work for her.

I hate it when Drs act like we have all the time in the world! Like we're not thinking about it every day and driving ourselves nuts ...

Alibobster · 28/07/2010 21:11

I know! and he was the one who said that my age was an issue! I've had all the blood tests done and everything is ok. The next thing we're trying is if I do get pgt I will need to get HCG injections every week until 12 weeks.

Thanks for the offer of the virtual G&T but I'm off to have a real one! Nice chatting to you gardenpixie, I'll keep everything crossed for you x

Alibobster (sorry I am being nosey here) is your partner over 40? The rules for referral differ if your partner is older. I got referred very quickly because DH is an old fart even though I was under 35 when I requested help.

gardenpixie · 28/07/2010 21:13

good chatting to you too - i think i might head to the fridge for some wine ...

fingers crossed for pgs all round xx

Alibobster · 31/07/2010 15:18

Hi Whomovedmychocolate, sorry for delayed reply. Yes DH is 40, he has been checked out and everything is fine with him. The thing is I am being investigated, so to speak, but it's just such a long drawn out process.
