hairy - good luck today

viv - stop it - obsessing this early is not good for you!

battery - wrt to the temping, I'm probs not best placed to comment as only did it for 1 month, but I found that mine moved significantly if the temperature in the room changed - ie if it was hot, if the window was open or closed, if I changed the duvet etc etc. Also - despite FF being adamant I ov'd on day 13, my dating scan shows a week earlier - which did have a rise, but then got rejected as a bigger rise later (which coincided with it being about 30 degrees!). Guess I'm not being amazingly helpful, but think what I'm trying to say is it probs takes a few months of temping to get an accurate picture and to be able to understand the chart properly.

Hi
thanks for the messages. Yes I feel ready and don´t really think I suffered too much about the mc in week 7, think I was only really upset that same week. Since then I was a godmother at a christening a week later (pretty tough but I did it without tears) and since had my friends 2 week old baby on my arm and only think nice things. I read all about this "you hate other mothers" stuff, but it hasn´t happened. Sure you always see more big bumps etc, but it didnt really get me like that.
I hope it stays that way and Im not just hiding it in my sub-conscious.

Jollster - sorry to hear your bad news. hugs from me too.
plenty wine and chocolate and all the beer you need to make you happy. Sad

I opened the wine and have been eating sushi like its going out of fashion since the mc.

So we will start as I feel ready. Have a weekend in London next week and then holidays next month. surely fingers x it will strike again. Smile

my AF took 33 days to come after mc so I guess its normal. guess this cycle wont be really normal as you say Smile MAMAPOWER - but could you please explain what
UCL is??

I only just worked out what BFP is

sorry -not really uptodate with all your abreviations here Grin
Im living in Germany and just new to this MN thing after a reco from my Scottish friend in Switzerland.

Its a grey and rainy day today. Totally bored at work, which makes a real change.

Choccybick · 17/08/2010 13:00

oooh Im all excited - just found the Acronyms list and happy to see my answers there.

Smile
hairytriangle · 17/08/2010 13:13

wave to all, thanks for the good luck.

Very serious lady seemed reticent at first about laparoscopy, but the consultant said yes and I'm on the list.

Dr said if she were me she wouldn't be too worried about another ectopic as the blockage is likely to be caused by the ectopic(how the heck she knows this without x ray eyes is beyond me) and this is in direct contrast to what the private consultant said. So she thinks just go ahead and TTC anyway whilst waiting for the laparoscopy.

She asked me why I don't go straight for IVF - I said there's the small matter of £4,000 on a procedure that is only 20% likley to result in pregnancy, and I'm too 'old' to get IVF on the NHS.

(I feel like starting a campaign - my fertility issues have nothing to do with my age, I've been told hormones are the same as a 21 year old yet I am not able to get IVF on the NHS).

Anyhoo upshot is I am on the list :) hurray!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 17/08/2010 13:14

...............who wants it first?

Waves to all xxx

hairytriangle · 17/08/2010 13:36

Hairytriangle waves at magic and resists the urge to be dolphined (or to do any tests at 4 dpo!).

Choccybick · 17/08/2010 14:03

gosh Hairy - how old is too old, not to have it on the Nhs?

hairytriangle · 17/08/2010 14:26
  1. I've been told my hormones are at healthy levels for a 21 year old, i ovulate regularly and I have had an ectopic pregnancy and discovered I have a blocked tube.

I think it's so incredibly unfair to decide who gets funded based on an age where natural conception is still highly possible - you could be, for example, 25 and highly unlikely to succeed with IVF, or 43 and highly likely to succeed with IVF.

My mum was born naturally when my gran was 43 an my acupuncturists mum had her brother naturally at 46!

Anyhoo, that's the rules, I guess.

Chocky if you feel ready then you should go for it.

I had a horrible mc/ectopic which went on for a couple of months (loooong story) but I have never hated pregnant women or hated being around babies. I have been a bit more emotional around babies, but I've never, ever hated anyone. Jealousy perhaps, or rather, envy, but not hatred!

Go for it as you say you feel well and happy - Good Luck!!!!!

DachshundsRule · 17/08/2010 19:20

How is everyone this evening? Seems to have been a bit quiet this afternoon and evening!

Been being a bit miserable today. Just beginning to realise quite how stressed I am about this whole process. Which, of course, REALLY helps with the whole 'it's easier when you're not stressed' thing and then I get even more stressed for being stressed!

Sorry, moan over.

Now, where's that virtual chocolate... (I'm not allowing myself wine, chocolate or even a nice cup of tea in real life, so this virtual stuff is the only vice I have!)

batteryhen · 17/08/2010 20:10

Evening everyone :)

Special hi to jolls - I hope today was ok for you xx
viv I hate it when FF does that, - me shouting ' are you calling me a liar' does not help the stress levels!!

Actually I am not doing too bad with the symptom spotting, mainly because there are non to be spotted :( I have felt Very sick, and crampy though - but that could be anything!

DP has made me promise not to test till the weekend Shock - I may have gone into melt down by then.

Right am off to sit in front of the TV and prod boobs concentrate on a educational programme xx

Moofold · 17/08/2010 20:13

Dach it is quiet this evening... I think we have all fallen victim to that vicious circle you have described. Here's some choc for you. Which leads me on nicely to saying hello to Choccy

Sunchild, that's bizarre. That is almost exactly where we are now, about a mile outside. We had both spent our adult lives living in Glasgow and sold our wee flat in the west end to move out this way when i was pregnant with DD. I don't know about sunny, that was a kind description!

battery, not that I should be encouraging you but all three times I have been pregnant I have seen a further increase. Not until about day 11 or 12 dpo though.

Jolls special hugs for you today. Hope everyone else is well

Freezingmyarseoff · 17/08/2010 20:36

Jolls I'm so sorry about the bad news, that really is shite

Haven't been on here much so I'm sorry if I'm alittle out of sync with everyone's news but I'll try and catch up.

Welcome to Izzy and Choccy may your stay here be very short IYKWIM

Hariy glad you managed to get on the list at least

Dachshunds here have some G&B's chocolate - my fave

Pensguin liking the blatent MNing during dull meeting - way to go

Cheepz hope you exchanged okay and the very important work meeting went ok

bit scared by the dolphin. I'm hoping the new strategy of having only one pissing stick left in the house is enough to stop me doing anything stoo-pid.

Waves to battery, moof, PV, YRMOTB, digital, northern, sarah, ladybee, viv, tigger, hopefully, owl, PFF, and mama I hope I haven't missed anyone

Freezingmyarseoff · 17/08/2010 20:38

Battery you've just started me on the boob proding!

youremindmeofthebabe · 17/08/2010 20:51

And Me Battery. And I'm only 1dpo! Fetch that dolphin magic!

I have a cold, i think. It's a bit grim.

Here, dasch I've got virtual biscuits and a lovely cup of tea. Help yourself.

Am off to find something exciting to watch on tv.

I will be back this week in order to canvas some sponsorship for the Great North Run. I am running for Candlelighters, a Childrens Cancer charity based in St James' hospital Leeds. My pal is a pharmacist there.

Waves to all Hope you're well. Smile

DachshundsRule · 17/08/2010 21:22

thanks for all the chocolate, biscuits, tea etc.

:)

Have been very tired today. And I'm sure I had a funny taste in my mouth earlier... But that's impossible because it's only 2 dpo!

And now I'm boob prodding too. Can I be next in line for the dolphin?

Take care all.

Good luck with the exciting TV babe. I haven't found anything this evening. There's always CSI Miami though, I guess... Although it always makes me a bit depressed - I want to be in the sun!

owlshoes · 17/08/2010 21:36

Righto; dumb question coming up.

Yesterday, I POAS of the OPK variety. I get a tiny weeny little faint line (i.e. no surge). Today I POAS again and get a much more promising line but still not darker than the control line. Do other people find this? Does it kind of get darker every day until the magic day comes and it is actually darker than the control?

I've only used the expensive smiley face sort before so this is an economy measure, I am just wondering if this is how they normally work?

Dachshunds you're right, there's bloody nothing on tonight. So many channels and all of them full of utter bollocks! Time for a lengthy snooze in the bath I think :)

digitalgirl · 17/08/2010 21:52

owlshoes prob not the best person to respond, as I've got long cycles, so LH seems to yo-yo before I finally get a surge but...I tend to get barely there to faint lines on no LH surge days, may occasionally get a slightly darker than faint too which gets my hopes up. Always get a slightly darker than faint line the day before I get a +ve opk, but getting a slightly daker than faint line doesn't necessarily mean I'm guaranteed a +ve opk (iyswim).

Nothing to spot here either. Although am feeling reassuringly luteal phasish (mild cramping, greedy huge appetite). Better than feeling nothing.

Just checked the cycle of my last bbt chart. Didn't get a temp drop till 15dpo then came on the day after. Am supposed to be going for a massive office booze up on 13dpo...do I test and end up a teary drunk after the bfn feeling guilty coz it still might have been too early? Wish it wasn't coming up as I would have happily waited to see what my temps did (am clearly a big fat liar pleased to havean excuse to test early).

sarahmia · 18/08/2010 00:15

hello all,

have buggered off to manchester for a few days to visit my SIL and to take my mind off the impending scan date which is still 2 bloody weeks away!!!

am feeling more positive at the mo tho
(hey that rhymes!)

BIG wave to everyone and love to all
xxx

VivClicquot · 18/08/2010 08:44

Oooh sarahmia - whereabouts in Manchester are you? Wink

owl - yes, that's what tends to happen with me, although I only use the expensive smiley face ones too. Blush If it's almost as dark as the control line, you can't be far off now so hope you're planning on having a busy day!

YRMOTB - You're better than me doing a half marathon! I'm training for the Tatton 10km at the end of September and am thinking about raising money for ARC who gave me support when I lost Gracie, but am a bit as I raised lots of money doing a 10k last year, and it seems a bit cheeky to be asking people to sponsor me again.

Morning everyone else. Right, I'm officially on haddock patrol today, largely because I'm not going to talk about my imaginary symptoms because if I put them down on paper, it means I half believe them and I refuse to do so. So I'm in charge of the fish instead.

Who's first?

Moofold · 18/08/2010 08:44

Owl, i find that's the case, yes. Line gets darker then I get 2 days where its darker and thicker than the control line (day before and day of ov). Good luck!

hairytriangle · 18/08/2010 08:48

Owl yes that happens to me.

Someone slap me with a haddock a dolphin a kipper and a bream. I am symptom spotting already!

randomimposter · 18/08/2010 08:59
owlshoes · 18/08/2010 10:18

Jolls has a point, dolphin is not fish - here, have this giant Mekong Catfish instead.

You lot were dead right about the OPKs by the way; I did another test (smiley face test) around 11pm and it came up :) Let the SWI commence! Is two days earlier than last month though so don't know WTF is going on there.

Viv and YRMOTB am well impressed with the epic running :)

digi that is a dilemma but you know even if you test and get BFN you probably still won't drink on the off-chance it's just a little too early...so I guess the only certain outcome would be a BFP which would stop you drinking so to summarise; I'm guessing you end up not drinking whatever the outcome so better to save the testing for later!

Of course I say this as it is the logical answer, but would go right ahead and test anyway as I have no self-restraint. Grin

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 18/08/2010 10:31

Jolls very true about the dolphin! Owls I am liking the catfish.
