welcome sunchild

i was also on the march 2011 board - I remember you leaving just as I was joining. Unfortunately I had an mc about a week and a half ago and this is a good place to be!

passes chocolate out to anyone who wants it and gives hugs all round

Back to the waiting for the AF so can get on with TTC

I think I've become addicted to the internet. I can't stop checking MN and researching IUI stats and scaring myself...

I think it's time for some real life dog cuddle therapy!

Cheepz · 09/08/2010 20:41

hairy no information to OH is the only way
battery love to - holds hands and skips round playground
viv CBFM and sticks - jeez lady Wink

busy day at work and miss my boy but its only for a little while til things settle

we did end up doing it on sat pm - wasnt even intending to but dh was frisky and its been so long i thought it best to break our drought

sunchild77 · 09/08/2010 20:44

Thank you for all the welcomes :)

Well I think AF has started, so I guess that makes today CD1.... Am a bit surprised as m/c started exactly 28 days ago... Our bodies are weird arent they?! urgh am a bit crampy too, hope this passes quickly...

Think we will be gently ttc this time around, scared nervous and just letting myself get a wee bit excited too.

Chocolate sounds great Harriet :o

tigger15 · 09/08/2010 21:31

Harriet - it's perfectly normal to be frustrated with ohs. They don't get it plus you also need to take into account the fact that you will still have quite a lot of pg hormones thrown into the grieving mix which makes life pretty hard for you to deal with.

Happy birthday PFF!

Welcome Sunchild hopefully you won't be with us for too long.

Sarahmia hope things are getting better with your dd. Have you got any fun activities coming up soon? I need to look into getting ds some swimming lessons soon.

I have had a frustrating conversation with drugs company in which they said they had informed all "medical practices". I pointed out that if they could email me about their products they could definitely email me about matters which are vital to my health. He said they would "take my comments on board" ie ignore them. He was american so probably doesn't get that I have complete say over which test strips I use as I'm not dependant on an insurance company. I just have to scribble a different one on my repeat prescription and the GP will change it no probs. Sadly I don't think any of the other companies are any better.

LadyBee · 09/08/2010 21:36

Chocolate sounds really great Harriet.

I'm a bit achey. And libido is up, so vaguely think maybe ovulation is happening. Pity, i quite feel like a shag - but in no way do I want to think that it would be SWI. Got to make sure DH has some condoms am no way near to feeling up to a 2ww and failure this month.

I have achieved a small step towards our car repair, waiting for a call back from mechanic tomorrow morning to come and replace the alternator and then drive it away to do the MOT (and presumably find several reasons why it needs more £££ spent on it). Being on holiday rocks Grin

MamaPower · 09/08/2010 21:48

Happy Birthday PFF
Hi Sunchild, sorry you're here!
Hairy, my DH also has a TMI headache, good advice from Zita, thanks for sharing!
Night all!

sunchild welcome to this lovely board ? sorry that you?re here though if that makes sense? I?ve added you to the stats

harriet thanks for the chocolate ? do you mind if I have a second piece?

knitter - you can have an entire bar if you want!

Velvetcu · 10/08/2010 10:29

Hello all

At last AF has arrived after my ERPC on 3rd June so I can join too!

what do UCL and CD stand for?

I'm not going to be monitoring temperature/hormone levels as I think I would probably get obsessed with it so I'm expecting to be here well after you lot have your BFPs but, like everyone I guess, I would like mine before my original due date!

sarahmia · 10/08/2010 10:41

morning all...

Well, spoke to my old dr at uch yesterday and he has agreed to see me for my scan on the 31/8 ... but when i was hanging up the phone he said, ok so im booking in for your nuchal scan but i dont want the nuchal test. i just want to have normal 12 week scan... is that just wahat he is calling it? or should i re-itterate that i only want to be sscanned?
Im feeling so sick with nerves at the moment. my boobs have stopped hurting me and i keep having these horrible dreams about dead babies. i really think im going to be a basket case by the end of this preg.
been feeling nauseous this morning which i never do. really feel like crying.

tigger went to clown town yesterday with my dd had a lovely time. still need to make a decision over which playgroup to send to next yr. Do you live in london? maybe you can help me decide????

youremindmeofthebabe · 10/08/2010 10:55

Woop, , Hi! I'll join you in neither temping or charting anything, at least not for a whileSmile

UCL usual cycle length. CD is something like current day?

Hi sunchild Sorry you're here, but it's a nice place to be.

sarah sorry you're feeling like that, I can imagine the turmoil in your mind.I don't really know if there's a difference re the scans, sorry. A quick google indicates a similar process in both types of scan but that they're looking for different thingsConfused

sarahmia · 10/08/2010 11:11

im sure i can just say please just do a normal scan they cant do anything i dont want.

have any of you ever considered just not having scans? maybe less poking and looking the better?

randomimposter · 10/08/2010 11:22

Hi Sarahmia
spookily have just come off the phone to FMC to book my nuchal scan... Have my NHS one on Monday, and now one at FMC on Tuesday (which I'm hoping I don't need to cancel after the Monday one :()...

I think the whole scan thing is an intensely personal choice and you must do what is right for you, your family and situation. I AM having it as I'm so old, and I would worry more about the unknown than the known IYSWIM. But you are absoultely right, you can refuse the blood test and state upfront to the sonographer that you want a straightforward dating scan only.

Hi everyone else - feeling slightly sick that I have booked this now... shit only one week to go.

sarahmia · 10/08/2010 11:35

it is very personal... basically i am TRYING as much as i can to make this a "normal" pregnancy for me. and "normally" i wouldnt have the nuchal test.
where are you having your baby? why are you going for a sscan to the FMC after your scan at your hosp? not questioning it just wondering.

randomimposter · 10/08/2010 11:49

When I had DS, we were sent upto Kings to have nuchal scan and you got the results the same day. Now although nuchal testing is offered in Brighton, you get the results in the post at a later date (apparently they are not able to do blood analysis quickly enough OR maybe scans are later reviewed by more expert consultants, I don't know). I just don't want to be waiting by the letter box for days (or worse get a phone call - standard I think if things NOT good) when I'm in the park with DS, or buying milk at the corner shop....

So am using the NHS local scan as my reassurance scan and then paying for the "same day" results service at FMC the next day... Hope that makes sense? So it's not that I don't trust the local sonographers ability, although I do think Kings/FMC are the absolute experts in this, it's more that I want the news ASAP.... Mr Corleone is a man who insists on hearing bad news immediately... and all that...

sarahmia · 10/08/2010 12:01

right, i totally understand would do exactly the same thing. I booked to go tot the FMC when i was preg last time. i was going t see Dr nicholaides, he is supposed to be like top top top. people fly in from all over the world to be scanned by him.. but before the app i came to the realisation that there was no point.

ON A TOTALLY DIFFERENT MATTER
anyone watch sherlock last night? I think i love the baddy. he was YUMMY

Hopefully · 10/08/2010 12:11

The baddy was brilliant, wasn't he?! Can't wait till they (inevitably) do more episodes.

We didn't have nuchal testing with DS, but probably will this time, purely so that we are forewarned as possible - more important to us now that we have DS to consider as well. Assuming things get that far of course...

Went in to see nurse today as I've been feeling faint and dizzy on and off for a week, and apparently I have v. low blood pressure. I had it with DS as well, but it wasn't a problem as I was only working, so spending most of the day sitting down! Don't think there's anything I can do for it really. But I asked if there was any chance of an early scan and she booked me one right away for tomorrow! Only 6.4 weeks (I probably would have waited till 8 if I was being sensible), but there's some chance they might see a heartbeat I suppose, which would be reassuring.

sarahmia · 10/08/2010 12:17

wait wait.. was that the final episode??? theres only been 3!
DH was falling asleep and I was like "how can you fall asleep with Martin Freeman, sherlock and the super fit baddy on the screen!!!!"

very nice nurse, you didnt even have to do any fibbing??? impressive!

Freezingmyarseoff · 10/08/2010 12:18

Hi lovely ladies

sorry I've not be on for a while so got a bit of catching up to do - we've been, err, busy Blush. Never before have been so interested in EWCM!

Hello to all the new ladies, very sorry you're here.

Jollster sending you chilled out "oohms" to help calm you down.

Sarahmia I'm sure you can definately refuse the nuchal scan. You need to do a blood test as well for the nuchal so if you refuse that they can't do the nuchal scan. I have also wondered about skipping the scans although that's all a bit academic at the moment anyway. Sorry you're feeling sick

Cheepz sorry I missed your birthday too Blush

Ivy enjoy your dress fitting today

Ladybee that's good if you're ovulating again, hope that means things settling down a bit

velvet, YRMOTB can I join your non-tempting, charting club too?

sunchild I also had 28 day cycles straight after my MC. But don't be surprised if you have some strange cycles a few months later. My last 2 cycles have been a bit WTF, but then my body often does things a bit backwards anyway Confused

I'm about to start the 2WW madness as DH away for the rest of week. At least I get to catch up on some sleep Smile

Sorry I know I've not name checked lots of people but big waves to you all (and some chocolate too)

Hopefully · 10/08/2010 12:40

Sarahmia yup, it was only a 3 parter!

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 10/08/2010 13:13

My my, this fred moves quickly......right I will try and catch up while my pests mindees take their naps, but I am only going to go back to this morning so please forgive me if I have missed anything!

Freezing Good luck on 2ww :)
Hopefully Hope you are feeling less wobbly, good luck for your scan tomorrow :)

Sarah they do the nuchal scan during your 12 week scan but you do not have to have it as they just measure the fluid at the back of the neck. They may do a combined test which is the measurement plus a blood test. You don't have to have this and totally your call. Personally I have had it each time and will be having it again as I would rather know earlier if there is a problem. Where in London are you btw? Crazy vivid dreams are very common in preg, had a few myself. Try not to worry yourself ragged, it wont change things in any way. Try some relaxation breathing or just counting to 10, get yourself a nice riddicoulously over priced candle (I can very much recommend Diptyque Baies - very fresh clean smelling unlikely to make you vom) and relax. My prenatal yoga teacher gave me this mantra and it always helps me chill out " I have cut and paste what she said.....

"Be positive and think good thoughts for the best outcome. You might like to use the mantra - I love what comes (inhale) and I love what goes (exhale) - it develops a sense of non-grasping, prosperity consciousness"

Each day at a time x

jolls Ignore what I asked on FB about the FMC. Durrrr brain. Not sure how long my combined test takes as I am under St Gs this time and not Maydie! Mayday. Mayday called within 3 days with results.

Hi Velvet - welcome, CD is Cycle day. Stick yourself on ethe list when you are ready to play!

Gonna have to run DD is emotional wreck this week (coming out in sympathy with me) and just burst into tears during Toy Story?????

getawiggleon · 10/08/2010 14:41

Afternoon ladies,

Sorry it's all gone a little quiet this end - still struggling to get to grips with all this new jargon

Still v light spotting, have hospital appt on Thurs to see if sac has 'made its way to the exit' like Dr charmingly said it inevitably was two weeks ago.

I've been doing ok, surprisingly well in fact until I bumped into a friend from my antenatal class yesterday and she is 18 weeks pregnant! Think I handled it ok, was more upset that she was so far on in pregnancy and hadn't let me know tbh. I nearly called her when I was only 6 weeks to share the news so felt a bit disappointed that she is half way through and hadn't got in touch.

Sarah I'm at UCH too - maybe we live fairly close? When I initially went to Dr he said that they automatically offer nuchal scan now if you will be or will turn 38 during this preg (not sure how old you are?) Am pretty sure you can refuse it though. Hope you get good treatment there - they were fab with DD1 for me.

Apologies for not name-checking anyone else. Will try and add more after Thurs. Here goes at first attempt at adding my stats!

Sarah meant to say if you are, or will turn 38 during this preg, sorry x

PinkFondantFancy · 10/08/2010 18:11

Hello all! Thanks all for the birthday messages, I has lovely birthday in the end and my best present of all was the arrival of AF proper! :) So in a few days it will be game on! It's weird, I think my hormone levels must have suddenly changed because I've been feeling like I've been living under a cloud for the last two months (realised today is 2 months to the day since I started mc) and suddenly it's lifted and the old me is genuinely back rather than just acting as if everything's fine. :D

I can see why you're upset wiggle, I would be too. Is there any chance that she's found out from someone else about your mc and didn't want to say anything in case she upset you?

Moofold · 10/08/2010 18:24

hi all, sorry I haven't been about for a while. Happy birthday PFF!! Glad you're feeling more like yourself. I think I'm still in the acting like things arre fine and putting a brave face on it, but I know what you mean. One day something just clicks and you know you are going to be ok and can get through it.

Sarah feel for you being so anxious. I think I nearly had a panic attack at work one day when i was about 5 weeks and I've never had anything like that before. Induced by a stressful situation at work coupled with freaking out about being pregnant again - but I brought it on myself. There's nothing any of us can say that will take your anxiety away but try to take on 8s advice and do your best to chill.

Sorry for not doing a big namecheck. Hope everyone else is well and hello to the new girls I have spotted
