Late ovulation and testing

Hi all,

This is probably a stupid question but I ovulated on day 18 of a 28 day cycle, am one day late and have tested and got a negative. Because I ovulate late do I need to test late? Will I be producing 'hormones' (of any generic variety!) for my period to be late? Am I just obsessing and uptight?

My head says wait 'til Saturday, my heart says get down to the 99p shop and buy 15 tests for a fiver!

With my ds, I was due AF on the Friday, I did a test = neg, I only got a pos after being 4 days late.

I know i ov'd late as i was testing iykwim. I would wait until Saturday as you mentioned...

I ovulate late too (9 days before AF) and last pregnancy I didn't test positive until 14dpo, which would be 5 days late in my cycle terms.

Try and wait if you can...or at least don't get too down about bfns before 14dpo as it could be just that it's too soon to pick up enough hcg to test positive. If you can't resist make sure you buy first response type tests that are the most sensitive as the digitals won't pick up the smallest amounts. Good luck!
