10 days late still no BFP?

Hi,
I'm a bit of a lurker on these boards, so it was about time I asked for some specific advice rather than trying to figure out the answer from the great advice on previous posts.
The title says it all really, I have a regular-ish cycle of 27-28 days. We have been TTC for 4 months now, I used OPKs to make sure I was ovulating which according to them I was. But i'm 10 days late now and 4 pregnancy tests later i'm still getting a BFN.

I have an appointment with the GP booked for Wednesday, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this and what the GP is likley to do? Could I be pregnant? Or is my body just messing me around?!

All advice greatly appreciated!

I don't know what the GP will do but a friend of mine tested loads of times and never got a BFP, even though she had severe morning sickness.

you could very well be pregnant. you could have low hcg level. when i was pregnant it kept sayin negative until i was 5 and half weeks pregnant. ten days is a very long time to be late.
good luck

Thanks,
There is hope then......I do have symptoms, sickness, nipping to the loo all the time and so very tired, but i've almost convinced myself they're in my head.
Why is TTC never straight forward?!

yes there is hope, yes all the signs then and those are the ones that come 1st but yea i know what you mean with thinking there in your head.
i know it seems that when you want to conceive it doesnt happen when you want it to. when i got pregnant i was 17 and it wasnt planned but it happend, and now im thinken about trying for baby n02 but for some reason i think because now im planning ttc, i dont think it will happen. if u get me?

FancyACuppa · 26/07/2010 15:25

It's frustrating isn't it? I spent years thinking that if you didn't use contraception you would get pregnant. It's not until you TTC that you discover it's not that straight forward.

I think there is always that little worry that it won't happen. We just have to try and keep positive - i'm sure that must be helpful in someway if only for my sanity!

it is, im still in 2 minds about trying i had such a bad birth with my little boy its scaring me about having another, but i would love to though.

sometimes it just takes time to get pregnant dont worry about it yet, apparantly on average it takes a year to concieve, thats what i read anyhow, it took my mum 2 yr to get pregnant with my little sister. just relax and try to put it to back of your mind, and have fun trying. then you never know

Sorry to hear you had bad experience, I hope you have a better time when baby No2 comes along.

I guess I should make the most of trying!
