I'm sorry if this is faar tmi, but have just been to loo and when I wiped I had a like a cooked ewcm!!! Scared the living daylights out of me tbh.

I'm also a bit sore, but put this down to lots of bd'ing, as I'm mid-cycle and ov'ing.

Does it sound like thrush?? I've never had it before but it's the only thing I can think of.

How do I treat it given that we're ttc??

Not a clue.......

Hi, i have had similar problems, annoyingly unprotected intercourse is somethign that can cause thrush, and a we're not going to stop that so you have to find a way of treating that is safe. I found a treatment in Boots (sorry if you're not UK) that could be used safley during PG and TTC, you insert and it lasts 3 days. I did this approx 5 days before I knew we would need to start BD'ing. I would try this next cycle. I have also found using Vagasil shower wash has helped a lot, its basically about maintaining a good Ph, so no hot baths, no tight clothing (avoid tights etc), drink lots of water etc.
Good luck!

This is how I found out I was pregnant! I went to ask phamacist for deflucan and she asked me if i was pregnant as it's one of the first signs! Turns out I was. Obviously i'm sure this isn't the case for everyone. It does suggest that over the counter remidies may not be suitable though.

I was just looking on Boots site (busy at work lol) and most of them say don't use it ttc .

Will make an appointment with doc, but going to go to chemists and see what pharmacist says. Can always cancel docs.

Dh is not impressed soreness isn't caused by him!!!

I too have the whole thrush/shagging problem, cooked pant snot thing. I keep trying to cut out sugar from my life (hence the name) as this is a huge factor in thrush (thrush is a yeast, yeast loves to eat sugar etc etc).

Wasn't aware that the treatments weren't often suitable for TTC. Do know though that it's possible to give it to your OH. The chemist should be able to tell you what to use (and won't want to take a sample, unlike the Dr).

Am interested to hear that the cooked pant snot is an early sign of pg (tries not to get excited about unscheduled cps that appeared yesterday).

Thrush is annoying to have, but it's easily treated and easily managed.

Hmmm so the Bounty I ate a while ago wasn't a good idea?!!

Loving "cooked pant snot" rofpmsl.

I get thrush every cycle - it's a complete nightmare but I have been using canestan cream and pessaries on instruction from my Dr who knows I am TTC and she has never suggested it could be problematic!

Thrush is apparantly more common in the second part of your cycle as the increased progesterone in your body can cause/aggravate it. Mine usually appears in the week before AF and sadly so far hasn't been an indicator of pg-ness!

If you have thrush, you need to treat it & stop TTC until it has cleared up (about a week). If you carry on having sex, you could give it to your dh, then he can give it back to you, etc.

So it doesn't really matter what you use, because you shouldn't have sex if you have thrush anyway!

try yoghurt or anything with good bacteria. eat bucketloads of the stuff and you should feel better... and try and stay off the sugar..

You can pass it to DH though. So he needs to coat his (can you say penis on here?) p...s with something like canasten after sex otherwise he will get itchy and sore too....

Just thought I'd let you all know that doc gave me a prescription for a pessary. She said def can't take the tablets!! Lovely chemist in Lloyds sold me one of their un-branded ones for £5.20, so less than prescription. I love it when they do that!!

Still have the cream, and have instructed dh to use it too bless him!!

Feel much better after using pessary, but still using cream just to make sure everything heals up!
