Oestrogen therapy - stopping and ovulation?

Hi there, I have been having a look on the internet, and can't seem to find the answer to my question, so wondered if any clever ladies here could help.....

I have been using oestrogen therapy for depression, under a private consultant, but with the knowledge and approval of my GP. I've been using quite a high dose of Oestrogel, which is basically a gel form of transmission.

Anyway, I've now stopped the therapy, and have been off it for three days, and I'm wondering if anyone knows whether I should expect a period right away, or could I ovulate soon?

What is the effect on the cycle of a sudden drop in oestrogen, without having a progesterone surge eg the pill?

Wonder if anyone can help with such a technical q???

Thanks for reading!
