Can anyone share their experiences of acupuncture when TTC please?

Hi ladies

I've been TTC for nearly a year after my MC and am currently on month 3 taking Clomid due to poor ovulation. I've heard several mentions of acupuncture and would love to hear from anyone who has experience of it specifically for fertility. I don't know when in my cycle I should have it, how often, the cost involved or even if it's for me, so would really appreciate hearing from anyone

Thanks in advance.

hi,

I had accu when TTC#1. I started going in the hope it would help regulate my cycle, and either that &/or the Agnus Castus I started taking did the trick & I with the help of charting I was pg with DD about 3 months later

TTC#2 hasn't been quite so good. I had a very early m/c the first month of TTC, and went back to my accu lady. About 8 months later I fell pg again, but sadly had another m/c in may.

My sessions cost £25 each (I think the first consultation cost a bit more as it took longer) When I first went I used to go every week, but these days I go once every 2-3 weeks. She treats me differently according to when I am in my cycle & what my charts show.

I really like it, I find it very relaxing & it's nice to talk to someone in RL about TTC! I'd say give it a go & see how you get on!

Hi.
I would recommend it but only to someone you have faith in. I went to two different practioners. The first didn't particularly inspire me but the second really did and I am sure that it helped me. I had had recurrent miscarriages and while I suspect steroids did the trick for me - going to acupuncture with an exceptionally nice Chinese lady helped me feel I was doing something positive - and her practical advice (eg drink lots of water, rest, sleep, less coffee etc) probably didn't do any harm.
And I thought the needles did something.
But it is all such a personal thing. Could you perhaps google local practitioners or ask your GP/health visitor etc if there is someone local. Do you live in Scotland?
Good luck!

I didn't have accu but I did have reflexology and after 2.5yrs of trying to catch my dd1 within a month she was growing nicely. It helped with my period pain after i stopped bf too i think! hope this helps x

I had acupuncture after 2 years of ttc dc2. I fell pregnant immediately.

I think my practitioner told me she wouldn't treat if I could be pregnant so I was going to go once a week from start of period until I ovulated. Mine cost £45 per session. I would agree with thewormisturning that it is a positive way of dealing with problems trying to conceive.

Think there is a website for practitioners in the UK. I'll try and do a link
