The May Bus

I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

Morning, and welcome all new passengers.

Congrats on making the bus at last Lib, that was the longest wait ever!

Well I'm on CD 18 now and still no ov, at least not according to OPK/temps (my OPK has been showing a half-ars*d line for the last two days so hoping to get a proper one today) but have been SWIing every other day like a good TTCer so hoping for the best. Poor DH is feeling a bit regimented I think, now I've explained the rationale to him.

Morning all. Beem away for the weekend too see my DH who is working away. given that we were together I poas - too early really I know - I'm about 10dpo today and no surprise, it was BFN. Humph. I don't feel pg either. Am begining to get a bit despondent about it all. A few days ago I had really sore boobs and got all excited, but that seems to be fading now. Oh well, AF due next weekend and then I can start all over again.

PS I've lost a day I think - I'm on CD 28 today.

zinnia · 16/08/2010 10:38

OK, here's a question: if I get my +ive OPK today, and assuming I'd be on another long (for me) cycle, that would still mean I'd be having a short 10/11 day luteal phase.

So would I still have to wait till 14dpo before testing, or could I just do it if/when AF was late, which could be 11dpo?

Have a feeling I know what the answer to this will be, and that it's going to be a long, long bank holiday weekend (with MIL staying as well!)

owlshoes · 16/08/2010 11:43

Morning all!

Name change! (I was Saffronbun) Oooh, I am on day 11. Probably should start OPKing. Not that it worked last month :/

Ps. Zinnia that all sounds complicated. :) Probably better to wait until you stand a chance of getting the + result as no AF + - result = very annoying and not conclusive.
Having said that I think I would be testing earlier as I have no self-control. Grin

Updating the list as I seem to be a day out, pretty sure I ovulated last night as had to get up at 4am and take some paracetemol as I couldnt sleep the crampiness was so bad. So my Question Of The Day is it worth getting DH back for another romp as the egg will last 12 / 24 hrs right? Or is it possible to ovulate and then get the pain? The reason I say this is I had TMI ALERT the wet slippery EWCM on days 10 /11 / 12 / 13 but on days 14 / 15 it was more tacky and cloudy and globby (gawd I'm so gross, sorry!!!) and then OV pain on night of day 16. Any one have any ideas, is that kind of carry on normal? I wonder if any point in SWI now as mucas doesnt seem very sperm friendly and DH is well sick of me saying Jump on board its the RIGHT time!

Hi zinnia yeh that was the longest wait ever! finally i can get on with SWI! good to be back on the bus! Smile

zinnia · 16/08/2010 17:34

kiwidreamer only wish I could help you there - have you tried FertilityFriend? She has some quite detailed CM analysis, might not be a bad place to start.

Why is it so ruddy difficult to work out when you ov? Got an even fainter line on the OPK today so don't know whether that means I have ov'd/haven't/will do tomorrow... Guess I'll just have to watch the temps and keep SWIing until it looks like the window has closed. Sigh.

Lib better luck this month, at least you're almost on to the fun part now!

Hi ladies....

So I tested today (sore boobs and odd coloured nipples prompted me) and I got a BFP! I ended up doing 3 tests to be sure, A FR, a Clearblue normal and a clear blue digital - all positive! I'm trying not to get too excited because its such early days. I fear I may also have been hitching a ride on the wrong bus because all the due date calculators are saying the very end of April. But what's a couple of days between bus buddies?

Wishing you all lots of BFPs xxx

digitalgirl · 16/08/2010 22:39

Yay! The May bus' first bfp!

Congratulations sloathy!!!

Yay and big congrats sloathy wishing you the stickiest of little beans xx

Ah well in the end I decided it wasnt worth the bother of giving it one last shot, was getting a bit obessy about the biz which is a right mood killer for DH apparently (still makes me a bit HUMF when its okay for him to be keen when I'm not so much and I still make an effort), highly unlikely this will be our month which is a bit sad making but I guess it only takes one keen little swimmer ;-)

And here we go on another TWW... any of those delish brownies left bicnod and I'm not even gonna ask how many WW Points are in them some times brownies are medicinal!

Hoorah, Sloathy congratuations :)

May there be many more this month!

Wombat33 · 17/08/2010 10:30

Slothy Congratulations!!!!

Loopy sorry to hear you had a bit of a difficult camping/TTC experience! Thanks for your thoughts. I am getting support, esp from my DH who is being amazing and the genetics serviice have been good too. We are now wondering whether to stop TTC to allow time for tests etc (which may or may not reveal anything anyway), but as you said, it might be too late for that anyway. Poas this morning at 11 dpo and the line was sooooo faint I am convinced I was imagining it. Have bought more tests and will update you all tomorrow.

zinnia · 17/08/2010 11:10

Congrats sloathy that's fantastic news!

Phew loopy sounds like you've had quite a week, you poor thing. It's hard enough trying to keep track of everything when you're under a solid roof and in the daily routine, let alone with canvas/holidays in the mix. Hope your DH sees the error of his ways and doesn't doubt you in future.

Think I may have ov'd yesterday, on the basis that temp goes up after it happens, right? Got a fairly strong (but I thought not strong enough) line on the OPK on Sun and DTD that night, then a much fainter line yesterday. Then a v high temp this morning, but that may be to do with the fairly large quantities of wine consumed last night (DD at my mum's so we grabbed the opportunity for a meal out). So even more confused now than ever, and not sure if we caught the pre-ov window. However this must mean I'm on the 2WW at last, surely?

JuneBugJr · 17/08/2010 11:11

Firstly - congratulations to Sloathy on the BFP :) thats fab news!

Just starting the 2ww here too. Not exactly sure i have ov'ed here for sure but signs are there (ish) CBFM hasnt given me a peak but then again you do have to test first thing in the morning and i never seem to show symptoms of ov till the afternoon - had a bit of af pain (which usually accompanies ov on Sunday) so used a leftover cb digi ov test and it gave me a :) - although it was gone again by 8 in the evening so it must have been a very short surge given that the cbfm didnt even pick it up in that morning. Fingers crossed i ov'ed - am temping too but its not going that well - temps seem all over the place, will test approx 10 days from now though just to see.

All this SWI'ing every day during the fertile period is getting a bit ... well boring to be honest - im sooooo tired mostly all i want to do is sleep!

Thought I might try breaking down my 2WW into "manageable" chunks to avoid the vista of its stretching away from me apparently endlessly:

Day 1 po (today): possible post-ov signs (neg OPK, raised temp etc)
Day 3: FF deigns to recognise that ov has occurred (hopefully)
Days 4-8: Trying Not To Think About It/Ridiculously Early Symptom Spotting
Days 8-12: poss AF appearance. Every trip to loo an exercise in anxiety. Constant stream of heavily pregnant women in street/at work/on Tube etc.
Day 13 (if make it that far without AF): Desperately trying to convince self that it's not happening this month in order to prepare for inevitable crashing disappointment of...
Day 14: Test. Get BFN. Cry. Wait for AF to appear.

Now I write it down like that it all sounds like such fun, no?

Am getting concerned about lack of CM. Qu for those passengers who check CM, do you guys dive right up there and retrieve it to obsessively analyse it or wait until it lands in your underwear?

Sorry that is an uber minging qu!!
