The May Bus

I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

Hi Everyone, (jumps on bus and tries to remember where she was sat)... I've missed you all, but am now back in the land of the connected as internet is up and running at home. Have just spent the best part of an hour catching up with everyone, and am happy to see we already have a graduate - congratulations!!! zinnia thanks for making me giggle just then Grin

I am still waiting to OV but think it is imminent as have got a bit of EWCM. Trouble is, I'm currently curled up on the sofa in my dressing gown suffering with a nasty virus and the last thing I feel like doing tonight is the deed, haven't even got the energy to brush my teeth Blush.

Its been quite refreshing this month not thinking too much about ttc, what with not being able to even log into FF. Feel a bit more relaxed about it, so hopefully, if I can get my ass into gear and get over this lurgy in time, it could be my lucky month Smile

kiwidreamer · 17/08/2010 21:46

Oh zinnia your post did make me giggle but I see the :( side too, there is just so much friggin waiting with this TTC business its just so frustrating!!

Booo for feeling poorly at the worst possible time for TTCing 8rubberduckies, hope you feel better really really soon (gawd that sounds like I mean just so can jump your man but I do mean it for your sake!!)

I'm up for answering super minging Q on CM ravenlocks... tmi alert I find if its the right time of my 'fertile window' (was a girly swot and did the Fertility Friend power point presentations on ovulation last night LOL)then the proper clear stretchy wet EWCM is easy to find right there on panty liner or with a wipe and yep I do the stretch test regularly. As I get within a day of OV it tends to be less obvious and I've had to... ahhh... go looking for it but I find if I have to do that then its usually more paste like, less clear and more opaque and a bit more tacky. I say this cos this month I was sure I had ovulated cos I had several days of good EWCM and then I had to go looking for it and it wasnt so clear n stretchy so I thought I had OVd and then woke up 4am Monday morning with hideous OV cramps. Dont know if that helps at all or was just me sharing waaaaay too much! Also now that CM is such a large part of my life I am recalling at when I was younger I had LOTS more of it and that's when I started wearing panty liners but now I'm coming up 35 and its lots lots less, I think that is normal from what I've read.

Only on day 2ish of TWW and already trying to trick myself that sore boobs are not cos my bra is too tight and might be something much more exciting... even tho bruises under my arms is all the evidence I need that bra is defo too tight.

Lol Loopymumsy, im right there with you! Last night was the last night of SWI for me (hooray now i can have SFF but NOT till the weekend, i need some time off), got a higher temp yesterday and another one this morning so hopefully (although i have had two disturbed nights in a row with DS) that means i have ov'ed and the :) on the opk was a surge. I am soooo relieved! Poor DH he is very stoic and i fancy the pants off him but 5/6 nights in a row is a bit much for us.

Ravenlocks I find it doesnt work that well if i retrieve (i must have short arms Hmm - just a wipe does the job though and there is usually sufficient to identify if its stretchy or not - good luck!

Zinnia excellent observations about the 2ww there, i feel bad wishing my life away for the next 10 or so days but month after month its always a no for me and like everybody else on here just to see that second line would be great.

Im rubbish at symptom spotting as the only one i get (and only when i am pg) is sore boobs, thats how i knew with DS 3 days early, my boobs were just so sore and luckily i dont get that with AF so i just knew. I dont really get sick either so its a boring 2ww for me - no symptoms to spot!

ravenlocks · 18/08/2010 07:59

Thanks guys! Will take a look and FF and you never know, may well end up exploring tonight - what a charming image, eh!? Hope none of you are reading this thread over breakfast!

Feeling a bit Sad as friend of mine just updated facebook status with 'has a bun in the oven' followed by a 12 week scan photo. Cue loads of comments on her status with congratulations and far too many explanation marks and..... Argh! Happy for her but don't mind admitting my heart sank too. Loads of other friends posting photos of their babies on what feels like a daily basis. Give me a break!!

Maybe it is just the mood I am in but does your scan photo reeeeally have to go on facebook?? Poor mite social networking from the womb! Having lost a baby at 17 wks I wouldn't do that.

Grrrr!

zinnia · 18/08/2010 09:31

Morning everyone
Thanks for kind words, day 2 of the 2WW for me so I'm going to settle myself into my seat, crack open the chocolate (regretfully stowing the wine away in the luggage rack for now) and put my feet up.

fledtoscotland · 18/08/2010 10:18

morning ladies - day 3 of the 2WW! Thanks Zinnia for making me laugh, am probably not quiet as patient as you.

Have DTD at the "correct times" this month, lots of EWCM but somehow I just don't feel positive. This is probably just me talking mince since with DS1 I was so ill, I don't actually remember any of the early pregnancy signs and with DS2, I was 9 weeks before I realised I hadn't had a period.

Have just done the online sainsbury's order for next week and ordered 3 bottles of vino in preparation for the BFN but in the meantime have kettle chips if anyone else fancies a chance from chocolate.

quick question - which day PO do you POAS? do you leave it right up until the day AF is due?

Wombat33 · 18/08/2010 10:25

Morning all. LOL at the CM question/descriptions. I find that on a good month there's absolutely no need to hunt for it iykwim, but on a bad month (like this one) there's virtually none even when I do.

Thats said, it appears lackk of EWCM may not be a problem...

I did poas again - last night and this morning - and I think, just maybe, I have a twp!!! :)

I'm not quite ready to go on the graduates list though if that's okay. I'd rather wait until the line is stronger and the weekend has passed with no sign of AF (due sometime Fri-Sun).

I have mixed emotions because of the very high risk of abnormalities even if it sticks, but most of all I'm so soooo excited!!

Wish me a sticky bean with good chromosomes!!!

fledtoscotland · 18/08/2010 10:29

oh wombat thats fab news - fingers crossed for a sticky bean. remember that there is a 50% chance that everything will be ok.

will they give you an early scan at EPAS?

sending a very unmumsnet hug

Wombat33 · 18/08/2010 10:42

Thanks fledtoscotland - that's what I keep telling myself! Am soo soo excited I can barely concentrate at work and I'm walking around with a ridiculous grin on my face :) Just keeping everything crossed that it all works out!

Good luck to you too - two days ago I would have sworn blind that it hadn't worked this month, so you never know!

Wombat33 · 18/08/2010 10:45

Oops, in my excitement I didn't answer your question Scotland - I actually don't know if they would plan to give me an early scan but I imagine it's likely given what I've been told about the potential for problems. I think I will probably push for one even if it's not immediately offered.

owlshoes · 18/08/2010 10:45

Woo! Wombat here's hoping for a big strong line very soon!

raven I'm with you on the not-posting scan pics so early - I wouldn't dare. Gross CM question btw but needed asking! I do like the fact there's no such thing as TMI on here, who else could you possibly ask that sort of stuff?

Mm kettlechips, hand those over :)

zinnia · 18/08/2010 10:57

FX for you wombat - keep us posted.

fledtoscotland, to answer your POAS question: having been sorely disappointed two months running by testing before AF actually due, I'm now not going anywhere near a stick until 14dpo at the earliest. FF I think insists you wait till you're 5 days late, but for me that would mean waiting till 17dpo (this month) and frankly there's no way I'm going to last that long.

It's all for good reasons though: an early BFN will just upset you and might not be conclusive, at which point you're just going to end up testing repeatedly and lots of BFNs really do your head in (well, they do mine anyway).

Personally have come to the conclusion that there is no point testing until AF is actually late, no matter how many symptoms you've convinced yourself you've got.

But hey - that's just me! Some people just want to know one way or another as soon as possible - although of course the earlier you test the less likely you are to get an accurate result, so it's all swings and roundabouts really...

DS (2yrs) was such a littledemonmonkey at the shops today, I did laugh at myself a little bit as I purchased another pack of Poundshop pee sticks... am I mad to want another one of thesedemonsmonkeys so badly!!!

I managed to do the deed with my limbs aching and my eyelids propped open with matchsticks last night, so please O Lord reward me for my dedication to the cause this month! Good job my partner will take up any offer of some shagging (with or without intent), as I probably didn't look my best!

Quiet woohoos coming your way from over here wombat, hopefully you'll make it onto the grads list very soon.

I have a question - I have heard somewhere there is a supplement you can take to lengthen your luteal phase. Mine is verging on too short (9-10 days). Anyone know what could help?

Hope everyone's Wednesdays are going well, I am propped up in bed with medicinal biscuits and tea Smile

Wombat33 · 18/08/2010 16:56

Well done Rubberduckies!! Hope you get well soon and thanks for the woohoos :)

Prinpo · 18/08/2010 17:02

Hello everyone ,

I bring a 1970s 'sweet trolley', groaning with black forest gateau, lemon meringue, various pavlovas and profiteroles. Think I may even have a Vienetta somewhere (shuffles around in coolbox). Would anyone care to order? Smile

Oh, I've also got a job lot of something cold and bubbly, which I plan to crack open in a day or two when AF turns up.

I've been off the buses for a few weeks but thought I'd hop back onto this one because, even if AF turns up soon, I think I'll be able to get straight back on at the back.

Wonderful to hear about the BFPs - congratulations, ladies. Really hope that you have uneventful pregnancies.

MIL staying at the moment (good job we're not trying to SWIng) so I'm a bit brain dead but I imagine I'll perk up soon.
