Hi, I'm quite early in my cycle, 8 days to be precise (in what has generally been a 30/31 day cycle but my last period was my first off since coming off the pill) and I have quite a sore lower back with a slightly sharp stabby pain which comes and goes. I'm not at all concerned as this is purely part of my cycle, I get it every month. However, as I am now trying to become more body aware so we know when to baby dance I'm trying to work out what it is - could it be mittleserze or whatever it is called but isn't that a pain at the front rather than your back? Just trying to work out what my sore back for three days means every month. it is then followed by, ahem cough, 'pant snot' (I hate that phrase, sorry - I'm can be terribly prudish!!) for three days then sore boobs...... It's just a part of a normal cycle I never seem to see mentioned....
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
R

I didn't know what the snot was about until I went for a smear mid cycle and the nurse commented on how fertile I was . So I took that as indication of when I was ovulating. I also became aware of lower abdo pain about the same time - also didn't know that was indication of ovulation - wasn't ttc then so it didn't matter!

'Pant snot'! Niiice! That's cervical fluid (CF) and increases massively when you're fertile/ about to ovulate. When it is like egg white, that's when you're super fertile. Good luck with it!

Yes, I'm not so keen on the term either so think I'll stick with cf!! Much more easy to cope with!!! Think I am just about super fertile then although the calculator thingy says I shouldn't be until next week so not sure what is going on.
