Ovulation on CD23 instead of the usual CD16

Hi all, advice will be very gratefully received. Im 38 and have been ttc for a few months now and have noticed with my opks that i generally seem to detect the LH surge on day 15 or 16 and combined with increased EWCM and the actual ov pain that i get i am pretty sure i am ovulating.

Last month i tested with opks till day 19 then gave up as i assumed it was an anovulatory cycle i did have a longer cycle than usual though instead of 29 days it was 31.

This month i again tested until CD19 and then gave up as i assumed that i was not ovulating again but yesterday morning i (sorry tmi) wiped after going to the loo and noticed alot of EWCM, i got out my clearblue digi opks and sure enough a appeared. I did it again yesterday afternoon and then again last night to see how long the surge would last - it was gone this morning.

My worry is that i ov'ed last month around the same time and if i did then surely that is not a long enough luetal phase for implantation to happen? Assuming that actual ovulation happens today or last night i would still need to hold off having AF till the 27th of this month for a pg to be successful right? If last months cycle is anything to go by then actual ov on day 23 gives me only 8 days till AF is due - is it possible to get pg with an 8 day luetal phase? Maybe i will get lucky this month and my cycle will be 33 days instead of 31 that would give enough time for implantation right?

Dont know what has happened to my cycles last month and this but it all seems to be out of kilter, we SWI'ed a couple of times over this ov period so i hope that is enough and that my cycle is a couple of days longer than last months longish cycle.

This TTC is soooo stressful!

I think you just have to wait and see what happens and then go to the doctor if your luteal phase does seem out of whack.
My cycle always lengthens if I have late ovulation. FWIW I once got pregnant on CD28 (my cycle was usually 31-33 days but that was an odd one!).

Ah well haliborange it does sound like there is hope, I was kind of hoping that my body would know if I conceived iyswim and hold off af till safe implantation - perhaps this will be even more lenghty than the last cycle - you have given me some positivity though thanks for that as this late ov business is not usual for me.
