Me and my partner have been trying to concieve for the best part of 3years with no luck so decided to seek medical advise. after months of poking and proding
I was diagnosed with ??PCOS! i found this quite strange as my cycles have always been normal. my consultant then prescribed me CLOMID! to be taken on days 2-6. I am now on my 2nd cycle of clomid and have absolutey everything crossed.

I NEED YO HEAR SOME POSITIVITY FROM OTHER CLOMID USERS PLEASE!!!!

Hi, I'm also on 2nd clomid cycle. Was eventually diagnosed PCOS after much poking, prodding and also being told I definitely didn't have it as I was too thin. Don't know how positive I'm feeling just now but will definitely cross my fingers and toes for you!

kevlexx · 14/07/2010 14:42

THANK YOU! you have to stay positive and keep hoping. How did you feel when you were prescribed clomid? also do you have any side effects from it?

I know the weather has been pretty hot recently but i feel like im in a sauna most nights.

I was over the moon when I finally got the pills and so hopeful last month, so very disappointed to have to go onto 2nd cycle. I've been burning up at night but didn't associate it with the clomid until you mentioned it Also have had splitting headaches for the last few weeks. Trying to stay positive at the moment but all the time aware that I only have 3 chances before I have to go and have my tubes pumped full of dye

highheelsandequations · 14/07/2010 15:45

How about you? How are you dealing with everyhting? I'm trying not to obsess this month as last month I was analysing every single feeling/pain/twinge in my body!

kevlexx · 14/07/2010 16:22

I was sooooo disappointed on the 1st cycle after convincing myself something was there, as you said you tend to analyse EVERYHTING!
I have tried not to concerntrate too much on it this month but i really cant help it.

My consultant refused to prescribe me anything until i had all the test done which included the very intrusive dye test, internal and external scans numerous blood tests and my partners 2x SA.
I went onto so many sites because i was worried about the dye proceedure but that only made it worst! it didnt hurt at ALL just really embarrasing as there was the dr her helper and a trainee in the room. my tubes are fine which was such a relief!

Im now on cd12 and have been getting on it every single opportunity . apparantly my 2 most fertile days are today and tomorrow.
Ive also started doing the clear blue ovulation tests but its not as clear as they say.... rubbish in fact.

Hello, not on Clomid at the moment, but I conceived my lovely DS on it - he is now 4 months old. I'm probably going to go back on it in a few months time to TTC a sibling for him.

I was advised to DTD every other day from days 10 - 20 of my cycle, and I think I caught right at the end.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

ps I was told I was too thin to have PCOS but a scan said otherwise. I was on Metformin too which I continued till I was 8 weeks pregant.

lizzy31 · 14/07/2010 16:39

I got pregnant on my third round of clomid. The only side effect I had was feeling really hot at night while I was taking it.

How do you know your next 2 days are your most fertile?? Are you monitoring your cycle? I didn't get a positive opk unitl day 16 then no temp rise until day 20 when I got pregnant.

I keep going after day 14 IYSWIM.

highheelsandequations · 14/07/2010 16:48

Feel like I've had half the world gaze at my internal organs through various scans! Thought my partner would be not too impressed at having to have the SA but was remarkably not whingy about it.

On CD19 just now so off for blood tests Friday. Not sure we've been active enough this month so not too hopeful but hope you're enjoying yourself over the next couple of days kevlexx

I was told not to bother trying the ovulation tests as they aren't accurate whilst using clomid.

pinky how many cycles did it take for you to conceive your DS? Any helpful hints?

shelinka · 14/07/2010 16:57

I was diagnosed with pcos in 2004 and prescribed clomid. I've conceived 3 dc with it (ds on the second cycle, dd1 and dd2 both on the first). No side effects, and it seems to work like magic for me! I was told to take it from day 5 to day 9, and to dtd from day 10 to 20 every other day. My most fertile day was day 14 in each case.

Btw, I was also told that I was too thin to have pcos, but the gyn/obn did a scan, I saw the evidence myself. Hth and good luck!

lizzy31... my dr showed me how to work out my 2 most fertile days whether they are right i dont know! ill hang onto anything right now.

highheels...
It is really nice to have other ppls opinions/experiences its definately made me lighten up a bit!

what dose clomid is everyone on especially those who have had success???

im on 50mg, i didnt quite follow my drs instructions and forgot to go for my blood test on cd21 so im not even sure if it has worked.. i wont be forgetting this month!

kevlexx · 14/07/2010 20:19

o and 1 other thing... ive been on metformin for the past year 500mg 3times a day due to me being insulin dependent diabetic. I wasnt put on metformin for my fertility but was advised it i may concieve!... still no BFP

OP posts:
lizzy31 · 15/07/2010 08:57

I was on 50 mg as well.

If your cycles have always been the same you're probably right but I definatley conceived later than day 14 but we are all different. I'd but an extra couple of SWI just in case.

CD21 will let you know whether it worked.

highheelsandequations · 15/07/2010 19:20

I'm only on 25mg just now, blood last month was 27 on CD21 which nurse said meant I had "probably released an egg". Hoping results tomorrow are much higher and/or that they up me to 50mg next cycle as I am impatient and "probably" is not good enough
