Help! Faint BFP on two tests but faded after 15 mins - what does this mean?

Regular but name changed

Am due on Wed...did an extra sensitive dip test and got a very faint positive. Stared and stared with a big fat and then did another one - same result

However, going back to them 20 mins later, line has faded, leaving only control line

Instructions say to disregard after 10mins but am now flapping..what does this line fading mean...am PG but have tested to early or what??

I mean as far as I can see, a line is a line, I've had PG symptoms etc so...

It was a batch lot so am not too worried about cost for now...

Hmm though..I mean have all symptoms and its v rare to get a false positive (not on any medications that could give one) and it seems weird that had two BFPs yest when wee was more concentrated

I am driving myself crazy now - can't you tell

Put the test down woman .

Right if you are pg it is fairly early so why don't you wait and do it with a first morning urine.

Try not to worry on my first pg every other test was negative till 6weeks. I was not on the net then so was very confused only young so hadn't told anyone.

Wanderingsheep · 12/07/2010 09:04

Fwiw, the very faint test that I took (clearblue) was on day after AF was due so you are testing very early if yours is only due on Wednesday.

Good luck, I have my fingers crossed!

must be pregnant chickpea craving

rosieposey · 12/07/2010 17:00

This happened to me, random positives for three days on and off (took about six a day! ) then nothing in the day before AF and AF came a day later, must have been a chemical pg Hope you just have dodgy tests though will be keeping my fingers crossed, i know what its like thinking you are then its not a goer - DH bought me a puppy to make it up as i was soooo upset(and he is very lovely) Good luck to you and let us know how it goes, only a couple of days to go and you will know for sure.

PussinJimmyChoos · 13/07/2010 21:59

No need for name change anymore...looks like it was a chemical preg...just waiting for flo to knock on the door now

slushy · 14/07/2010 09:29

I am very sorry for that, are you sure it is a chemical pg?

Pavlov · 14/07/2010 10:21

oh jimmy i am so sorry my lovely. Big hugs to you, and lots of positive vibes for a good result very soon xx

Wanderingsheep · 14/07/2010 16:34

Oh, it was looking so hopeful! I'm sorry to hear this.

PussinJimmyChoos · 14/07/2010 20:37

I've done a ton of tests and all negative...not sure what the hell it was..

AF not here yet but am on CD29 and so ratty so reckon its around the corner - well, it has to be with all these negatives!

liahgen66 · 14/07/2010 23:20

For future reference it sounds like an evap line, you can actually see the 2nd line develop but it won't stay. If you were to let the test dry quickly it would remain there and look like a bfp.

A line is only a line if it develops within the tima stated and remains there, a pos result will stay for a long time hides tests from dd who is now 5

I'm sorry you got your hopes up.

Loujalou · 15/07/2010 08:25

I did think about evaporation lines but I thought they appeared after the set time for reading the test had elapsed

What threw me was that I had lines appearing on two separate strips (albeit same sample) and I had never had that before. I was a bit puzzled that they didn't stay but then thought oh ok, the instructions say to disregard the test after 10 minutes anyway

Either way, CD 30 today and still no flo...each time I go to the loo, keep expecting to see something...mind you, if ovulated late ( which I think I may have) then period maybe later starting

This does my head in!!

liahgen66 · 15/07/2010 20:06

have you tested today puss fingers crossed for you.

PussinJimmyChoos · 15/07/2010 20:08

I tested with FMU this am with a standard test on day your period is due Boots test (ran out of dip ones!) it was negative

However, if ovulated late, then I'm not technically late yet am I???

Had two BFNs before BFP nearly 5 days late with DS

Arse...now my hopes are getting up!!

liahgen66 · 15/07/2010 21:06

god its confusing isn't it? I feel for you and hope it works out.

PussinJimmyChoos · 16/07/2010 20:40

Still no flo

CD 32 tomorrow...not having normal pre flow signs either - tmi but usually have slightly yellowish discharge and wee is a little darker but this month, none of that

Feel a bit sicky in the evenings and not fussed about chocolate which is unlike me pre af

But then, could just be pyschosomatic

Loujalou · 17/07/2010 07:09

Mmmm I would be tempted to test again. When was the last time you tested. All seems like it might be good signs. Well no rtd is always a good sign. Can you organise a bloodtest?

PussinJimmyChoos · 17/07/2010 20:35

Last time I tested was Thur am with a bog standard test - not extra sensitive

Still no AF...have been going back over the month and I am quite sure I ovulated late so taking 14 days from start of EWCM puts me at yest/today...so it could just be late due to ovulation being later??

However, have never gone into CD33 iirc

What's the betting I log off and RTD arrives in a few hours!
