I really want to enter the Legoalnd comp but

  1. only have old pucshchairs
  2. no travel cot - well its ancient 3, dont want to recommend Mn to anyone to ensure its My thing

so parents of older kids feel excluded?

Coddy, have to agree, I sometimes try to review a video - but I can't remember last week, let alone 2 years ago, which is the oldest age for a video review.
How about a "most cheeky thing your kids have said" question for a competition?

Coddy · 25/03/2004 12:46

Or ways to hep your child read?

Or just not baby baby baby stuff

I thought you can send in a Tip too in order to enter. Can't you?

momof2 · 25/03/2004 12:49

Perhaps when baby products are the prise, then the competition should be aimed at parents of younger children, but for tickets to legoland etc the questions should be aimed for everyone, inc parents with teenagers?

alibubbles · 25/03/2004 12:57

Coddy, I have six tickets for Legoland at £7.50 each, but they are valid for 3rd April only, if you are interested, contact me asap.

bobsmum · 25/03/2004 13:01

Do the reviews and tips have to be stunningly original and fabulously written or is it just a prize draw type thing. I've only ever entered one MN comp cos I just can't be snappy and eloquent enough

Coddy · 25/03/2004 13:33

Ok point taken: some answers

  1. Reviews are just marks out of 10 and a short nutshell comment - doesn't have to be pithy, eloquent or even spelt properly just from the heart!
  2. It's always a prize draw so we pool all entries ie all people who have sent reviews or whatever and pick names from electronic hat - regardless of how useful/eloquent review was
  3. See your point about legoland comp and have added send a tip to entry requirements. Can't guarantee that you'll win mind but at least you can enter now. All those who do have thoughts on travel cots and pushchairs and don't mind their mates knowing about mumsnet please feel free to ebter that way.
  4. The number of entries is not restricted ie the more reviews you send/ friends you recommend/ tips etc the more times your name will appear in the hat

Hope that helps
Carrie
PS may take a few mins for legoland comp to update.

Coddy · 26/03/2004 07:51

thanks Carrie. God that makes me sound awfully fussy. YOu are patient with us.!

After this thread, I decided to enter every competition I could find on the homepage. I won one and was runner up in the other! Why didn't I enter the lottery this week too?

Thanks MN - have many pg friends needing treating to summat nice!

coddycodcod · 18/05/2004 10:41

still baby realted stuff ont he comps - h ave all but given up entering!

mummysurfer · 18/05/2004 11:16

yes, all baby stuff or tips - well i've given my best tip already - maybe i'll do that again as i think it was the one the week i won the Keycamp holiday

coddycodcod · 18/05/2004 11:56

was it good?

libb · 18/05/2004 12:00

From another point of view, some of us haven't had our babies yet and can't do a review either! I'm dreading finding out that the travel system I've spent good money on is hopeless and he is allergic to the disposable nappies I've tried to stock ahead on!

I am sure I can find some tips though . . . so there may be hope for me yet.

mummysurfer · 18/05/2004 12:37

was it good? well can't find it now but was very similar to this

If your child has lots of jigsaw puzzles, try putting little coloured stickers on the back, so when they get mixed up, it is easy to sort. (breeze)

only i put a number on the back. don't think it has anything to do with the quality of the tip tho' do you?
my next tip is going to be

always take your child's clothes off before putting them in the bath

or how about

remember to take the dirty nappy off before putting the clean one on!

maybe we'll win

Tinker · 18/05/2004 12:41

I always seem to miss the holiday ones. Whenever I remember to look it always for another stroller or sling.

Rachel (mumsnet) · 18/05/2004 20:20

Hi Coddycodcod

Not sure whether you're talking about the prize being 'baby stuff' or the entry requirements. If it's the entry requirements, we have given the option now to enter by sending your details to the mumsnet address rather than sending in a review - see comp page for details. We think there's been quite a range of prizes for parents of older kids recently (Alton Towers, Bags of Love, Samsonite to name a few) but we take your point and will endeavour to makes sure we get a range of prizes for all our members. Please don't give up!

Rachel, Carrie and Justine

i can't see this bit, just the recommend a friend

bundle · 18/05/2004 20:55

there is a bit there, sending to mumsnet address but you have to post it to a PO box number, not email as far as I can see.

mummysurfer · 18/05/2004 21:02

Ah, yes, bundle i see it now. thanks
