Final drumroll for the 12th day of our Plum competition. The winner of the amazing Free Groceries for a Year prize is... RAFgirl

TheSkiingGardener · 13/12/2011 10:51

Ah well, didn't win anything in the Plum thing. Shame, there were some excellent prizes!

Latrucha has won a £500 donation to the charity of her choice for taking part in the Giveasyoulive shopping website testing thread - congratulations!

belledechocchipcookie · 13/12/2011 12:12

(sits in the corner and whimpers) A years worth of shopping would have been so lovely, a cleaner would have been even better. Sad

angeleyes101 · 13/12/2011 12:28

Congratulations to all the winners. Enjoy your prizes

wannabestressfree · 13/12/2011 12:43

Oh well heres to the next one.

entropyglitter · 13/12/2011 14:30

I am a little Hmm about prizes being randomly assigned when its going to charity. It feels wrong. Maybe it would have been better to split the money between the charities of the responders?

RAFgirl · 13/12/2011 14:40

Thank you so so much! I am a lurker rather than a poster, but look at Mumsnet every day and use it as a great source of information, so I don't think it's fair to acuse those of us that have been lucky enough to win as not being "Mumsnetters" just because we are too shy to regularly post on the message boards.

We have had a bit of a hard time of things lately (including a MMC at 11 weeks last week), so to say that I am grateful for this turn of luck is an understatement. MNHQ, I have received your e-mail and replied with my details. Thanks again!

Well done RAFGirl - I'm delighted for you (ok, a bit Envy as well!) - its a great prize and it sounds as though you were due for life to throw some good stuff at you.

No-one is suggesting that just because a particular prize-winner isn't a prolific poster, that they shouldn't be eligible to win a competition (at least, I think they're not Hmm) but it is the case that a disproportionate number of big prizes have been won recently by people with usernames like 'jane101' who have no posting history and are quite likely to be serial competition-enterers rather than genuine MNers.

Obviously it's hard to prove (or disprove) but it does raise the hackles of those of us for whom MN is a way of life who come on here for more than the freebies.

Now that MN have limited all the competition entries to one each (have you done that yet MNHQ?), hopefully with a screen that says "you have already entered and entries are limited to one per user" or somesuch, this should stop being such a problem. Even the most committed competition-enterer is unlikely to set up 600 user names and then log-in/out 600 times....one would hope! Grin

YAY My vouchers came today and I've just perused the site and they are redeamable at my favourite local spa - Thank you so much Mumsnet!

This really has made my christmas AND my Mums AND my husbands!

mammanetta · 15/12/2011 14:45

well...after having not won anything since my giddy lucky dip Oxo cube (literally) when I was 9 in primary school, I felt very privileged to have won a Dr.Hautshker face cream (?spelling!) here on MN - thank you MN!!!
I was over the moon!
I'd better not win anything bigger than that or may run risk of self-combusting Xmas Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 15/12/2011 17:06
