Re-using uniform

DD did a martial art at recreational level until covid she's unlikely to return to that club any more so I contacted them asking if I could drop off her uniform and belts.

The local leader replied he couldn't take them. I contacted hq and they said the same, suggesting I put them on free cycle or similar (I have done this).

The uniform is organisqtion specific so no use to anyone practicing that martial art at another organisation.

I know his is small fry in the scheme of things but it just seems incredibly wasteful, the uniform could easily do another couple of children, the belts are pristine and could be used multiple times.

I'm mot really sure what I can do, I've made my feelings known to them but we are no longer members.

It's just so annoying that a national organisation would be so wasteful!

Yes, it is annoying but if you donate the uniform to a local charity shop it might go to someone who needs it after all.

Does the organisation have a Facebook page or similar? I've passed kit onto younger children that way.

Yes passing it on via marketplace once our household is clear of covid.

Definitely something I am going to ask when we join groups now!

My kids do boys' brigade and girls' brigade, and previous years on the first night you paid your annual subs then bought a second hand uniform off them (cheaply) and your child used it for a year or two and you gave it back in, and they sold it to the next person.

This year there was no second hand uniform for sale, due to covid. Annoying for several reasons.....
