Hello

A friend of mine is coming to stay and only drinks mineral water. Is it better for the environment if I get glass bottled mineral water or plastic? I will put both in my recycle bin but I wondered what the difference is between them, or are they both awful?

Both aweful unless you can find a refilled. Glass ( uk) gets ground down for road building I think

Glass recycling is well tested and reduces carbon - it is much, much better than plastic. Alternatively you could get one glass bottle of mineral water and surreptitiously fill it up from the tap when your friend isn’t looking - bet she won’t notice!

Canned water! Aluminium is much easier and quicker to recycle. It also is much quicker so when you use a can it will be back on the shelf as another can (or another product) within 60 days.
