Hi looking to move to Newton Abbot in Devon, can anyone tell me about the area? Housing areas that are great areas to avoid etc please. Thanks!

Not many places you can go wrong with in Newton. The traditionally ‘rough’ areas would be Buckland estate - but many parts of that are really nice or improving - and Broadlands which isn’t a big area and even that has good spots, that’s near the leisure centre. Those are the main areas I’d be a bit cautious of. But rougher areas here are not in a par with inner city for example.

Newton can seem a bit like a town centre on the downturn because of loss of some town centre shops but it’s still got plenty of community and people trying to improve things. And it’s so close to the sea and the moors.
