Not advertising a home to swap just looking for some tips and advice, possibly hear some success stories to keep me motivated?

I live in a flat. I know everybody moans but I'm lucky to have a roof over my head however, everyone wants a little better right?! It feels impossible to swap for a house, I offer to help find the person their desired property as part of a 3 way. I'm active, I message up to 10 people a day sometimes.

Is there anything else I can be doing?

A lady once told me (she was my taxi driver) that she used to just drive past houses that she liked the look of and posted notes through people's door and has always managed to get the home she wants. She had a 1 bed flat in a block to start with.

Anybody else had success?!
