Severe back pain but doctors advised only bed rest

There has been a week since my maternal aunt is complaining of severe back pain. It starts behind the upper back (beneath the neck) and moves downwards throughout the spine.
She has been sharing that with my mother and she is now getting excessively concerned about it.
This pain has been affecting her life negatively and her daily chores are becoming difficult to be completed. The doctors did not found anything but instead of sharing the reason of the pain, they suggest bed rest. I do not understand this and I am worried. If someone has ever witnessed a similar case or does know what the issue could be, then please share it in the comments!

I would be worried about total bed rest for a while as your aunt will lose muscle tone. Have the doctors suggested what it might be? We're they a GP or spinal specialist? Could someone like an osteopath help? Unfortunately doctors often don't know why someone experiences pain leaving the person adrift.
If she's had all the appropriate tests (MRI etc) which have not found anything then I would be looking for alternatives like osteopath. Doing something proactive can often help boost their mood which in turn helps the pain. If you think there's more that the medical field can help with then I'd push for a second opinion. There's physio and pain management which can also be utilised. I really hope her pain is reducing soon.
