How do you manage chronic pain alongside work and family life?

I’ve been dealing with ongoing pain and some days are much harder than others. The frustrating part is that you can look completely fine on the outside while feeling exhausted and uncomfortable all day.
I’m curious how other people manage chronic pain alongside work, family and everyday things. Do you have any routines, treatments or little things that genuinely make a difference?
And how do you deal with the mental side of having pain that just doesn’t seem to go away?

First of all it is better to check which type of pain is it, if severe physical pain then medication can be a better treatment and for that visiting a health specialist would be suitable. Mild pain or general pain due to exhaustion is different and it can be dealt normally. In routine taking short interval breaks while working and asking for help in household chores could make you feel much better.

BuTrans patches, morphine for breakthrough pain, and pacing myself to not over do things.

Everytime I have a busy day I make sure there are 1-2 days afterwards where I can rest to recover. If I ever have to do 2-3 busy days back to back I make sure the week afterwards is empty.

Outsource as much manual labour as possible (cleaners, gardeners etc), and focus your limited energy where it really matters. Quality over quantity.

Rest. It is absolutely the only thing that works for me. I often go to bed for 9.
