So I’ve finally found a drug that has helped with psoriatic arthritis pain, but it’s uncovered a different layer of pain … this she’s just been diagnosed as fibromyalgia after a
trip last week to my rheumy consultant. Anyone have any words of wisdom for me? im
on Amitriptyline which sometimes helps sleep
and sometimes not - TIA

Hi chunky. My husband is on it, plus cocodamol. He just went completely downhill from January this year.
He is a rheumatology patient. Possibly psoriatic arthritis, but diagnosis is not fully known yet.
I hope it works for you. It is a very tough illness.

Hi, @chunkyBoo, the best thing I had prescribed for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis was a biologic injection called Adalimumab (aka Humira), but that was via Dermatology.

Do you have psoriasis too?

Thanks @TheAutumnCrow- I’m already on Adulibmumab, since August, and it’s been pretty good, however it’s lifted that layer of pain and now I feel the fibromyalgia pain, a new thing that I think has been there ages, but the maelstrom of pain I’ve been in is slowly breaking down into its individual parts.
yes I have had psoriasis since I was an early teen, it was only on my scalp til about 11 yeaes
ago when we had a hige
shake up at work, I was ok but it was a good year of worry, and I got covered in what must have been 30-40% psoriasis on my body, and it’s always been on all parts of my body since … the PsA part has been coming I think for a good 5 plus years but I’ve always tried to tell myself I’m too fat or peri etc …. It’s just been the last 2 years since I sought help with the GP and have got to my first biologic. Mtx and sulfasalazine weren’t good because of side affects
