Hey, I have a colonoscopy booked for tomorrow morning, I’m so nervous and not sure I’m strong enough to get through it. I don’t know what to expect or anything it can be compared to. I don’t know what to do, I can’t stop crying.

I had one on Friday just gone. Not the most pleasant of experiences but necessary all the same. I stopped eating at 1pm day before procedure and then had to drink 2 litres of this drink stuff that tasted like lemon sea water. It gave me the worse bum violence I’ve ever experienced for around 12 hours. When I got to the hospital for my procedure at 8.40 the next morning I was still passing this god awful water substance. They put a canula in my hand, walked me to a bed where I could see a screen. They put 2 rounds of fentanyl and propo in my hand, I told them I was really uncomfortable as I felt the pipe thing be inserted so they quickly topped it up. I don’t remember anything else about it next thing I was in a bed being offered a cofffee and biscuits. Got my results there and then having had polyps removed.

in my experience the build up and drinking the drink was far worse than the actual procedure.

Just checking in to see how you got on.

I've been suffering with severe intense pain with 1 daily BM lasting 8-10 hours after the BM since March 2025.

Occasional bleeding and sphincter spasms. GP diagnosed a thrombosed haemorrhoid! Pain feels more like a fissure.

My mood is really low & I feel so debilitated, waiting to be pain free!

I have finally been referred to colorectal clinic next week. Unsure of what to expect & how long to wait if a camera maybe needed?
