Baby crying for hours

Hi all, I'm a first time mum and my baby is 7 weeks old. He's formula fed and uses mam bottles. At the minute he seems to just cry in absolute pain, clenched fist and just over all uncomfortable. I've taken him to doctors several times now and they've just said he seems constipated and colicky. They gave me lactulose to give him but this is still continuing. I'm running out of ideas on how to comfort him, I'm currently using infacol in every bottle to help with gas. I do bicycle legs, belly rubs and give him baths but still no luck. Please help!

CMPA?

You can get lactose free formula. Maybe try that? Or thin the formula, so it is easier to digest, and feed more often?

Sounds like silent reflux, my son had it and was hideous to see his pain and discomfort. I even took him to A&E at 3 weeks old as I had no idea what was happening. He was just so sad in his wake windows, they gave him omeprazole but wasn't til he had blood in his stool at 8 weeks that the HV clocked it was CMPA as he didn't have a rash so jadnt been picked up before.

Gp will try gavsicon first as that's on their ladder of care but it constipated most babies, omeprazole took the pain of reflux away and then the cmpa formula took the reflux away.

Does your baby having quite mucusy stools? And have discomfort lying flat etc?
