Hey,
A quick background story before my question.
I have been suffering with chronic pain on and off since September last year. I have had multiple tests and the doctors are struggling to find the cause so have diagnosed me with a chronic pain disorder. I can manage my pain pretty well until it reaches about a 7/10 on the pain scales. After that things get a bit harder but I still manage the best I can. However it gets to point where I'm in absolute agony and any movement causes such intense pain that occasionally I pass out.
Now I give my GP and local doctors their due, they have been trying hard to find out why I am in pain. I am on several waiting lists for different departments but for me the most important is the pain management team. I am patiently waiting and have been for roughly 3 months and I know the waiting lists are long. My questions What are you supposed to do when you are in agony, you've phone your GP they can't do anything, you've phoned 111 they tell you to go to A&E so you go to the hospital and get refused to be seen because you have been there a lot over the last few months?
I only go to the hospital when I feel it's necessary but I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Currently I have no pain management plan apart from things I have come up with on my own. I use mild pain relief tablets, hot water bottles, TENS Machine and simple distraction. When none of these things are helping what can I do?
The reason for this post is just to perhaps connect with some people that also suffer chronic pain and im happy to try almost anything so if anyone has anything they do when they have a flare up please consider sharing those. I am not asking for medical advice.
