Back pain and buzzy feeling on left side of body when laying down.

I’ll try to be as concise as possible. I’ve been dealing with lower and upper back pain for 12 weeks now and although it has improved a lot with a lot of gentle movement and stretching this last week I’ve been experiencing a buzzy sensation all over my left side of the body when I lay down. I sleep well and all but the minute I wake up is there again.

I’m waiting for MRI results that I had almost 2 weeks ago but would really like to know if someone else have had this before.

The pain as I said has improved a lot but still feel mild pain on the upper left side of back and neck and on the lower left back including bum especially at night when I finish work and look after my two toddlers under 4.

Has anyone else experienced something like this before? Thanks

Buzzy feelings tends to be from slightly trapped or inflamed nerves. If your muscular pain ran from neck to lower back i would bet my last penny it's from a trapped nerve due to swelling/manipulation.

You could ask your GP for specific painkillers but I expect you are on amitriptyline(?) already.

Hi, thanks for your input and you’re right, I am on 10 mg amytriptiline although currently weaning off as it didn’t suit me.

I also got MRI results and brain and neck are clear but have a bulging disc on my lower back that seems to be resolving with exercises as it wasn’t causing any pressure on the adjacent nerves. The buzzy feeling has decreased a lot although the withdrawal effects of the medicine are still playing with my brain and body a little bit.

also would like to add that I think 70% of the pain I’ve been dealing with these last 3 months was due to severe post natal depression so in cases anyone, like myself, keeps browsing about all the weird symptoms you’re experiencing know that, if there’s no medical explanation it could be that.
