Nursing pain

Hi there,

I couldn't find another thread (or topic) talking about the discomfort and pain of holding our babies in for long periods. I was wondering if anyone else suffers as I have? Feeding, nursing, and holding my babies at home has been easier as there are plenty of cushions and pillows around, but outside the house is much harder. I have taken pillows out with me, using space under the pram, or just rolled up a coat or used a bag/knee to lean on when feeding.

And then when they fall asleep it's another hour or so holding them - and as we know they get heavy! I developed tennis elbow with my first and had a difficult birth with second one. Has anyone else developed any wrist/elbow/shoulder issues from nursing?

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Hey do you take magnesium at all? Could be worth a try either supplements or spray as it may ease the pain. Other than that just using cushions when you can - I am doing the same so feel you on this! Also regular massages if budget allows - helped me a lot during pregnancy but also postpartum & not I’m breastfeeding
