Hubby and his knees 🤔🤔🤔

My hubby is having awful pains in his knees. He says it's like a throbbing pain and they cramp up especially at night. Ms runs in the family and his uncle got a few surgeries on his knees before they found out it was ms. Am worried tbh. He did have an x-ray but the doctor said it was just wear and tear. Any advice?

Exercises to strengthen the muscles so they support the joint can help, losing weight (if needed) is probably the most helpful, but alcohol can aggravate it so avoiding alcohol can help too. Naproxen might improve the pain if the dr will prescribe it.
