Steroid jab for tennis elbow?

I've had very painful tennis elbow in my dominant arm
for 4 months. Physio, painkillers and cryotherapy have made no difference so I've been referred for a steroid injection in a few weeks time. Has anyone had one for this problem? I'm terrified that I'm going to have it long term and it's so debilitating! It keeps me awake at night and affects so many aspects of day to day life.

I bought a tens type (shock wave) machine from Lidl and went swimming. Symptom free after 10 months. Glad I didn’t have to have the steroid injection.

Glad yours is sorted! Was it very painful?

Not really I mean it’s uncomfortable and a bit weird but I empathise the pain from tennis elbow is excruciating and so debilitating. Swimming wasn’t easy but it helped too. I have nightmares about it coming back! I felt like chopping my arm off!

That's exactly how I felt at 3am this morning!!!! Sounds like you were very proactive with yours. Hope it doesn't return.

Literally bought every size of shock wave machine in Lidl and was twitching at least 3 or 4 times a day. Did my wrist, elbow and shoulder. I was desperate and I have no idea how I caused it. Also wore a brace type thing from Amazon think it was about £40 it was a decent one kept my arm in a good position even wore it at night.

Just to give a different side, I did nothing for my tennis elbow and it went away by itself. Took a few months but it did go away and I’ve not had a problem for a couple of years.
