Cocodamol 30/500 effectiveness

Has anyone else found that some brands of prescribed Cocodamol work better than others? My partner has tried Zapain & numerous other generic brands over the years but there's only a couple of brands that give him any pain relief, the rest don't work on him.

Please don't comment about addiction or complementary therapies, he's been down every avenue via his GP.

I get the generic version on prescription but I hate taking it because it makes me feel groggy and queasy. Hence I only take them if truly desperate.

I take 30/500mg co-codamol the brand is "accord".
I find these 10x better than zapain & the others. X

I've not had accord. I always think zapain hits me quicker than the generic ones. I sometimes think I should research why but I'm zapained up by then so I don't do anything!

Codein is necessary for some people. I hope he's OK.

I do believe there's a significant population of people that don't get the same pain relief from opioids. I remember my dentist saying something about it.

It's true, different brands can work better for some people than others. I have a friend who takes Zapain and they've given her the best pain relief over the years compared to others. My partner gets no relief whatsoever from Zapain so taking them when they don't work for him is madness.

He's sorted now, for the time being anyway. His own GP agreed that some brands don't work for some people - yet you get some people on here saying they're all exactly the same.
