If they said my mum needs a medication review before she can order her meds again, but her meds due before her appointment can she order it?

Iv been helping my mum with her medications she’s on quite a few repeat items and some are for life so she’s due a medication review and the first available appointment is not until next week but she’s due to run out of one of her meds before this appointment. We tried to order it last week but the dr refused and said my mum needed a medication review. Would I be able to order it today and explain she’s got an app booked in for this date and time but her medication is she before that so can we just order it now and she will have her appointment next week to discuss is for next time or will the receptionist be snotty like I often find them and say no the dr said no last week……

Completely depends on the doctors surgery. Here they will issue medication as long as you have the review booked.

@Xrays I’m just not feeling good and my mum can’t hear so I have to ring up for her and iv I get a snotty receptionist i really can’t deal with that, or would she have to put it through to the dr ?

I don’t think anyone here can tell you that as literally every doctor surgery has different policies and ways of operating. You’ll just need to ring and try. Sorry!

My Gp gives the prescription but just asks me to go in for a blood test for thyroxine levels. I'm sure the Gp will just prescribe provided an appointment is made.

The receptionist wouldn’t even ask the dr just said no she will have to see the dr on her review I said yes but she’s running out and will have by then they can see the dates on the comp she’s going to be over due it by then

I'd say your mum has the same doctors as me.
