Upper backpain stopping me from parenting

I have chronic upper back pain, between the shoulder blades and up towards the neck. I suspect from breastfeeding and carrying baby but even after trying to alter posture and using lots of support when breastfeeding, the pain persists. I can’t lift and carry my daughter who’s still relatively small. It’s beginning to depress me and wondering who to go to for help - osteopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist?

i think the back ache may also be giving me headaches and OTC pain killers doesn’t seem to help much with either.

any advice would be appreciated

How old is baby? You could have spinal fractures if the pain began in late pregnancy- 3months post partum. Ask for an MRI, look up pregnancy related osteoporosis- there’s a private fb page by invitation via the National Osteoporosis website. A rheumatologist can help but first look up on line, it’s a recognised condition but many GPs and indeed baby/mum medicine disciplines know nothing about it. Keep us posted- there is a lot of help out there x

You could start with a good physio to rule out muscular pain. I pay about £40 for a session with my physio, is totally worth it!
