chronic migraine / desperate / nortriptyline

Hello lovely people.

I'm really desperate, I was admitted to A&E in England on Saturday as the pain was so bad. Jaw/face/neck/shoulders. They gave me a steroid and told me to get in touch with my GP on Tuesday.

I have tried most of the drugs years ago and didn't really stick to them that long as the side effects fro me were awful. I have two children and trying to keep my job.

I just don't know what to do. I can't stop crying from the pain, and I now feel really anxious, with terrible tinnitus.

Has anyone had any experience with nortryptyine please? Which is what I think they'll suggest.

I'm really asthmatic so can't take propranolol.

Glad I found this post as I can’t sleep tonight as I am in so much pain. Chronic migraine sufferer here too. At the moment I have horrendous pain between my shoulder blades/shoulders/neck/behind my ears/jaw and CD an almost constant headache.

I have fibromyalgia and TMJD, I have a mouthguard but end up biting down so hard on that it makes things worse!

Medication wise - on 6 dihydrocodeine, 6 paracetamol, 2 topiramate, 40mg citalopram a day. Loads of supplements like magnesium etc. Have been on pregabalin sp, amitriptyline in the past. Take sumatriptan if I have a migraine. My sleep is a mess I’m always tired as the pain keeps me awake then I’m tired the next day. Haven’t seen my GP for 3 years. Have anxiety and depression totally stressed about work and a 18yo DD with severe mental health issues and all of this obviously doesn’t help. If one more person tells me to relax and try yoga I’ll scream. I do try yoga it’s got to be very gentle or it’ll hurt too much.

any ideas?
