In a lot of pain and my arm spasms are bad. I get frustrated when I can't do things with my hands, hoping it'll ease off before I go back to work next week. I also have a really heavy period, just to add to the mix, and since covid I've been getting intermittent chest pain. All very frustrating.

How are you doing @Akire?
Sending spoons and wishes for a peaceful pain free night to everyone

A beached octopus is a brilliant image Grin

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2022 12:46

Hope you get sorted OneNight

Oh Akire! Your beached octopus description sounds funny, but sounds awful. Hope you're a lot better today

Akire · 06/01/2022 12:54

Had rough night 5 night sweats. No temp not sure if jab related. Soaked through everything was big body shaped mark on the bed. Gross! Still also sneezing up to 20 times a day since covid, so annoying.

Have hospital Saturday have to attempt hair wash, leg and bikini tidy up. Not looking forward to that. Plus have write history of issues for consultant.

Sounds rough @Akire I have been doing the crazy sneezing too! Took an LFT yesterday but thankfully negative.

I'm attempting a codeine free day. Took mine yesterday morning and the second tablet got wedges in my throat. Spent 10 minutes constantly throwing up so am a bit scared of the big tablets now. Will try a teeny codeine if things get too bad.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2022 14:27

@Akire that sounds rough. Is it the Gynecological appt on Sat? I'd be tempted to mention the night sweats in your notes too. it may be related to the jab, but it may not. Either way, worth noting.

@SpookyScarySkeletons I take the teeny ones and paracetamol separately. It's horrible when big tablets get stuck - my Mum says I've always had a problem with it. Excitedly awaiting confirmation of dispatch of my bath lift!

SpookyScarySkeletons · 06/01/2022 14:31

Eek I'm so excited for you @RainbowZebraWarrior you are going to love it!!

Akire · 06/01/2022 14:42

Yes it is gynaecological not sure how far we going get but these things always take multiple visits. Been bleeding constantly for 2y now so taking long enough to be taken seriously over oh well it’s not fibroid nothing we can shrug. Still worried is something more serious so hoping they will give me an idea of what. Read threads all time when women bleed mid cycle and whoosh rushed through all many of tests. Not sure if covid or just bad luck only had one quick scan and nothing we can do.

Yes took LTF today as seeing friend tomorrow counting the sneezes 18 so far. Apparently you sneeze when membrane is irritated but that’s about much help as google can be. Does seem to be post covid “thing” just shame makes you look contagious out and about.

Pain not so bad today so counting my lucky stars on that score.

My hands can get really bad sometimes. I struggle to write and type because they will randomly go into cramp and all fingers at strange angles.

One thing that has really helped since all this started is colouring. It seems to be training my hands not to be such wankers with the cramps! And my old work friends sent me a sweary adult colouring book so it makes me laugh at the same time.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2022 14:58

Spooky, you're costing me a fortune this week! Grin Just been googling sweary colouring books. Sounds very cathartic. As well as, like you say good to train the hands / fingers not to be such wankers!!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2022 15:01

All I can say is best of luck @Akire youvr had so much to deal with. Hope you get some answers and some decent attention given to your problem.

Re sneezing. Since it's gotten colder, my nose gets really irritated. Usually more so going from indoors to outdoors. It's a normal thing for me. But I am ending up taking 2 or 3 lateral flow tests a week as a result. I'm like "is this my usual sneezing?" and "is this my normal asthmatic cough?" It's doing my head in.

Akire · 06/01/2022 15:03

Thanks very much @RainbowZebraWarrior

Chronic pain Cafe - support thread #3 All Welcome
HerRoyalHappiness · 06/01/2022 15:48

@SpookyScarySkeletons I have that colouring book too!

bicyclesaredeathtraps · 06/01/2022 15:52

Oo maybe I should start colouring again. I stopped when my hands started spasming and seizing up, because it was just so frustrating, but if it helps...

SpookyScarySkeletons · 06/01/2022 15:58

Haha so many of us colouring in swear words!

I think we should make a rule to share when each one is finished.

(I also have an entire colouring book of cats arses - also bought by work friends)

RainbowZebraWarrior · 06/01/2022 16:00

Haha. Brilliant. Great minds and all. It's the one I've just ordered.

Re: hands spasming. I just remarked to my Aunty this morning that I was amazed she could still do felting when she's currently waiting for a carpal tunnel op. I guess like using hand putty, crafts can strengthen your joints. I also guess that if everday things hurt our hands then we might as well do something fun instead.

HerRoyalHappiness · 06/01/2022 16:01

Sharing would be great fun.

I've got DD and DS2 puking in tandem today.

And DS2 has new school shoes which have rubbed and given him a blister. But he's autistic, so we had a meltdown about the shoes, then about the blister and then because he didn't want a plaster on it but he wanted a plaster. Confused
So I'm exhausted and I've got therapy tomorrow and the two little ones off school! That should be fun to try and juggle

My eldest is ASD so I feel your pain.

I had a fb memory pop up the other day from 8 years ago where she wouldn't stop crying. And when I tried to find out why she was upset it was because her school clothes were getting wet from her tears.

Figure that one out!!
