Back pain

I have had bad back ache for years. Had a disectimy last November, and last week stumbled and and have been in agony since. To the point when I try to get up out of bed or out of the car I feel as though my back/ hip going to shatter. The pain normally goes down my left leg but now going into my right hip and leg . Anybody any advise? I'm trying to get re referred back to my consultant but not that easy!!
