Was this, well, a bit cheeky?

For Christmas I bought DH a very nice new kitchen radio.

He bought me a DVD

My point is, I spent 10 X more on him than he did on me.

Since Christmas he has bought himself several hard back books and and a new car radio.

Is this a bit cheeky considering we are really watching the pennies this year, and he already got a nice expensive present?

Obviously I am being unreasonable, but is he being cheeky?

It is irrelevant what others think since you obviously feel he is taking the pee. I'd tend to agree but presumably you would both benefit from the radio.

traceybath · 31/12/2009 20:26

Will you not benefit from the kitchen radio too?

My DH would have considered that a bit of a joint present really.

SlartyBartFast · 31/12/2009 20:26

does he spend a lot?

i spent a fortune on shoes yesterday, in a sale, more than i have would have dne but they were half price

BelleDameSansMerci · 31/12/2009 20:27

Sounds a bit cheeky to me... Don't you desperately need some new boots?!

cheesesarnie · 31/12/2009 20:29

I can't speck ot him about it, as he will be upset.

At luchtime he asked me if he should buy a new car radio. I said no. But then I would, It's not my car,and I hardly ever use it. He than took the DC's to the park, and came back with a new car radio.

I have bought myself the purfume I was hoping for. But I've hiden it.

When I say upset, I mean he'll sulk, and then bring it up again in two years time, and make it look like I'm an ungrateful so and so.

Maybe he should've swapped the kitchen radio for a car radio.

LynetteScavo · 31/12/2009 20:44

No, he couldn't do that, becuase I'm actually really enjoying the kithcen radio. Even though I didn't plan to.

The reason I didn't buy him a car radio is because I would have bought the wrong one.

I can't buy any new boots (I don't need any, but do fancy another pair) is because I bought him the kitchen radio. The thought did go through my mind that if I bougth him the radio, instead of, say a tie, I wouldnt' be able to buy myself a new pair of boots. But I made that choice.

Obviously I'm just a far more generous person than him.

LynetteScavo · 31/12/2009 21:37

Actually, it's damn good!

And I have a superb bottle of wine he's left me with, aswell as a load of monster munch ()

He's nearly forgiven.
