We're spending New Year's Eve in but are all Wii-ed out and have had enough of trivia and cards. Looking for new ideas to keep the whole family entertained or any interesting new year traditions to share

We have been known to play silly party games - passing balloons along a team without touching with arms or hands, holding 2p pieces between your bum cheeks and dropping them in a bowl - that sort of thing! If you Google Businessballs there's a free website with loads of team games, ice breakers, quizzes etc. Have fun!

Panto.

Get tiddly, light some sky lanterns, snog dh in the cold, dark garden as they float off... and into the power lines...

Babysit and start 2010 by earning money!

Set off chinese lanterns.

Have sex with DH.

Go to bed.

A couple of times we have stayed in and set up obstacle courses for the remote controlled car. Ace fun.

This year we will spend a few hours at a fancy dress party then come home with the kids for the bells.

paulaplumpbottom · 30/12/2009 21:08

Why not celecrate midnight for every single time zone

paulaplumpbottom · 30/12/2009 21:09

You could randomly call someone in each time zone and wish them happy new year

HappyNewYearFromKimi · 30/12/2009 21:18

We will be having a party at the kimi house, with fireworks

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 30/12/2009 21:21

We are going to neighbours with kids , luckily live on a very friendly cul de sac. Spent xmas eve with them having street party but will be glad to be somewhere warm for NYE and can be a little less wrapped up.
We have more than 20 children between us so should be noisy and fun

We were invited to a party, but they are all younger than us and child free. I think we will stay in and try to make a baby

Matchingcardiganandtop · 30/12/2009 23:40

Have now read OP properly, I suppose the sight of me and dp shagging could be entertaining and it could also act as a good form of birth control if you have teenagers.
