Gosh

Will it be Christmas without it.

thisisyesterday · 23/12/2009 23:02

erm, no. don't have either.

although this year we do happen to have a bottle of champagne which was dp's christmas "bonus"

tulpe · 23/12/2009 23:10

SlartyBartFast · 23/12/2009 23:11

ooooh I'd love champagne on christmas day. don't much like salmon but I could force it down.

Not joking. Always have smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for Christmas breakfast and a glass of champagne.

If you are hosting Slarty but don't like it then don't buy it. Your house, your menu

Smoked salmon can be pricey but I rarely eat it at any other time of the year.

SlartyBartFast · 23/12/2009 23:18

mouth waters at thought of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs

maybe i should elaborate further, i didn't mean to offend! we're vegetarian, so no smoked salmon.
never had it at home as parents couldn't afford it (ditto champagne)

never really had champagne since living with dp either as we don't drinkt hat much, and it isn't a tipple of choice! we only ever have it for big celebrations really.

i don't really "get" scrambled egg and smoked salmon though. people seem to think it's really posh... but scrambled egg??

i'll shut up now!

SlartyBartFast · 23/12/2009 23:21

it is ok yesterday, it was the face of the first 2 responses, plus my 2 glasses of wine didnt help

tulpe · 23/12/2009 23:24

Not sure about posh, TIY, but it means a great breakfast made in minutes

We never had champagne at home either as parents couldn't afford it. I do love it now though. Tis my tipple of choice but that doesn't mean I drink it on a daily basis!

winnybella · 23/12/2009 23:26

We will have this year as MIL brought packets and packets of smoked salmon for us(even though it will be just me, DP and 2DCs) and we have two bottles of very good champagne left over from DD's christening.

thisisyesterday · 23/12/2009 23:27

sorry, my was more to do with it being dp's bonus than it being champagne lol

LittleMontyontheDustyRoad · 23/12/2009 23:28

I loathe smoked salmon. Yuk. Have never had it in my house.

Don't like olives either. What's that all about?

SlartyBartFast · 23/12/2009 23:29

must get olives tomorrow

OP posts:
sowhatis · 23/12/2009 23:30

We have salmon for breakfast, and usually have bucks fizz but I've got two bottles of champagne left over from my 21st last week. Will be sharing that instead I think!

IDontLikeDisciples · 24/12/2009 12:10

Champagne and eggs benedict for breakfast - shloer and orange juice with pancakes for the DC.

I love xmas for the food - stuff the presents.

newpup · 24/12/2009 12:36

Oh yes, champagne & croissants for breakfast on Christmas day. Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast on Boxing Day!

Yum!

SlartyBartFast · 24/12/2009 18:05
