I am sat on the sofa with the 3 dc eating Pringles and watching Miracle on 34th Street. They are so excited and will be even more so tom.
That satisifed feeling of having bought everything i need and the fridge and cupboards bursting.

Absolutely, Lily Me too

Christmas day itself seems to fly by far too quickly in blur of cooking and keeping everyone else happy.

CHristmas Eve is definitely my favourite day of the holiday

TheFoosa · 23/12/2009 18:51

yes, love it

although do hate the come down on Boxing day

it's like a very dreary Sunday x1000

PheasantPlucker · 23/12/2009 18:51

Totally agree. I love Christmas Eve best.

But this year on Cmas Day it is just dh, dds and me, and I am really looking forward to that prospect!

jobhuntersrus · 23/12/2009 18:54

I know what you mean. The excitement and the build up. I only enjoy it though once all the preparation are done, wrapping, shopping etc. I finished wrapping and bought last bits yesterday so today has been spent watching christmas films and pottering about in the kitchen. Visiting the inlaws tomorrow so won't have to cook till christmas day. Got to have a bit of a tidy and hoover tomorrow morning but not going to bust a gut cos it will look a state after all the presents have been opened.

nickytwotimes · 23/12/2009 18:56

I love it too.
The actual day itself is knackering and busy.

claudialyman · 23/12/2009 18:57

Oh god yes. hate hate hate the day itself. parts of the build-up are the only redeeming factor!

ja9 · 23/12/2009 18:58

me too. i like christmas day a lot, but adore the whole month of december -shopping, wrapping, baking, making decorations and cards, christmas movies with the family on the sofa, carol concerts, nativities, parties, winter wonderlands, snow...it's been a good month

jobhuntersrus · 23/12/2009 19:01

yes loving the fact we had snow and got to go sledging. Shame it has all been rained on today, just slush and ice now.

Numberfour · 23/12/2009 19:07

christmas eve is my favourite tie. i love wrapping presents so get all the goodies out all over the lounge floor once DS is in bed. but i do the cooking and fussing on christmas day itself. only DH and DS and me so it is not that frantic!

i really really really dislike Boxing Day - agree with TheFoosa on that one.

Francagoestohollywood · 23/12/2009 19:07

Me, me, me!
It snowed heavily here on Monday afternoon/evening, and it was lovely to walk back home after ds's school fete, everything was white and quiet!
My 2 dc are now watching: I want a dog for Christmas Charlie Brown.

mrsruffallo · 23/12/2009 19:10

DD (6) and I were discussing this today. We both agreed that Christmas Eve is the best day because it is so exciting and she has butterflies in her tummy all day!

tiredemma · 23/12/2009 19:11

I agree- Xmas eve is my most favourite day of the whole festive season.
I start to 'come down' at around 5pm on Xmas Day and I hate Boxing day (Im actually going to work on boxing day)

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 23/12/2009 19:21

chrissy eve is the best, christmas day is a bit hectic and all about people pleasing where as really i would just like to please myself (in a non rude fashion).

I love all the build up best too.
The nativity, getting the tree, seeing the lights, baking nice things.
Pretty much most of december.
